Gunner updates for you.

So as we all know master class Gunner is coming out.

Things we know that are official and speculation, of course things can still change so even being official from eme doesn't mean it's in stone until actual release that being said here are some things you should know before playing or picking a Gunner.

As far as we know it's only castanic and high elf female. This may change.

(Based on actual max level Gunner on PC and main class.)

Pros?
-very powerful
-very dodgy
-did I say very powerful?
-has an auto healer called HB.
-has an auto turret you can place.
-has epic finisher moves that consume rage(or whatever you wish to call it)
-generally a super fun and versatile class to play
-has stuns galore

Maybe some cons?
-without using the Iframes(Dodge abilities) it's slow as [filtered].
-depending on your setup or play style usually consumes immense amounts of Mana.
-the HB auto healer basically sucks at high levels specially if you're doing dungeons or anything that's throwing constant damage at you. (But always worth keeping it active)

That's about the only flaws I've ever had playing you guys are more than welcome to add your own opinion on what you think pros or cons are.

All in all. Gunner is an overpowered Archer with much better mechanics for crit, damage, Dodge, dip, duck, Dodge, damage.

You can sit in the back and blast your foes away without breaking a sweat.

This may be slightly biased because it's my favorite class and will not ever play the other two or anything when it's released for console but these are my opinions based on playthrough since release on PC.

The state that you will receive gunners in is very weak. They were nerfed during rmh patch and stayed pretty weak all the way up until slayers received propulsion passive iirc, which is like 1 year or so from console.
Auto healer is almost useless because most of the time it should be shooting bombs due to you activating Arcane barrage. Auto turret is useless and should be avoided, waste of dps. Finisher moves should only be used during enrage. They have two stuns so not really stuns galore...

Gunners BARELY CONSUME MANA, where the hell did you get that they're mana intensive? Do you perhaps not use prime battle solutions, like at all??

They will not be op don't spread false info...
  • I played for nearly a year straight after it was released, at that point there was no such thing as skill changes. We had charms back then campfires. Based on your response you're part of the new generation.

There were no nerfs or skill changes to any class in those days. I should of been more specific to when I last played.

Haven't played on PC in over 2 years

Well guess what, after you stopped playing, gunner got nerfed heavily with AB by 10% and a few other nerfs. AB got buffed again a tiny bit later but it wasn't enough to undo the damage and kept it in the lowish-mid tier until it got mega buffed again during awakened patch

So in those 2 years you were gone, Gunner got hit by the nerf bat...then got smacked with the buff bar again

I know on PC there has an Ellin version of the Gunner also. Do we know if there will be during console release?

Also, what level does the Gunner start out at? Asking since the Reaper starts at Lvl 50.

I'm not part of the "new generation", I've been playing and maining a gunner since they released in 2015. First vm gear I got was on gunner. But during the rmh patch (current patch on console) they were pretty weak and they remained weak or mid tier all the way up till now.
Even for 2015 most of the things you claim about gunner are false and not optimal at all.
I'm still interested in your claims that gunners use a lot of mana, any person would have an infused charm active during combat so how the heck did you have mana issues with gunner if one of their main skills restores mana?

Also gunners start out at level 1 @Snodacious, as for elin gunners they probably won't be in the game cause they came out kind of recently on pc, but who knows.
  • Considering that elin gunners and human male brawlers were released on PC at the same time and we didn’t have male brawlers on console, id say only high elf and castanic females will be out. Elins and human males can come later in the same patch as they didn on pc.
  • No one knows what state we are going to get gunner op or nerfed no way to tell. With the mix match patches that console has its hard to tell exactly were we stand compared to PC. I played gunner on PC and yes it was nerfed some but not drastically. The ones that feel it got major nerfed never really understood or knew how to properly play the class to begin with. Gunner still does major dps if you build it right. Stop being sheep and learn your classes instead of following guides others have posted, those guides were for that particular person and does not make them the best for everyone. I do agree about gunner not using alot of mana never had an issue with it, it was the only class I never had to worry about mana on.

The general patch and class position does match rmh patch with some exceptions, I doubt they'd release gunners as op as they were back in 2015 because that would mean actual effort in having classes of varying builds that don't answer to the same patch. It would be a mess to implement.
Guides are helpful because they've been mathed and tested out by experienced players of those classes.
This is an mmo, there will always be one correct way to do everything with little room for experimentation. However I would like to note that gunners are one of the most versatile classes when it comes to builds on pc as you can go with either power, energetic or mixed etchings. But their dps priority list will always be one with some breathing space when it comes to choosing certain glyphs such as rocket jump or point blank cd, and it will only change with upcoming buffs/nerfs.
  • I agree with @CornishRex completely. There will always be the best way to play your class. There might be few different builds that come close but depending on what you’re running and your team composition there will always be one that is best for a certain endgame activity. Not looking up guides can end up in you missing out on certain things that can drastically change your damage output etc. And that’s true to some extent that different people have different playstyles, you still need to know what build suits your play style better. For example, you can be either max endurance priest who likes to play safe or allow themselves to be hit on occasion to save their teammates. Or you can go max crit and healing in order to heal more at the cost of perfectly executed dodges. Priest is just an example here.

My main was a gunner back in 2015 (VM5 patch) and they were op af, but i remember very well that since ~mid vm6 patch (endgame was finm/fihm) they got like ~1 year of nerfs, by vm8 patch (rmhm) both gunner/slayer were the two bottom tier dps classes.
Only on Elin gunner release they got buffed to good tier.

Nowadays on PC, since awakening patch anything other than zerkers are just obsolete.
As you play Tera, you gonna see how this class rotation bs is detrimental to the long term health of the game, players will reroll only so many times and broken classes on pvp gets old quickly...

Very untrue. Rm didn't exist when Gunner was released. Therefore anything you say is no longer valid.

100% fact they'll be released as is. Like on PC. Some people on here like to just disagree with everyone with no knowledge of anything. Everything I said was true for when it was released. Future patches after I stopped playing changed it.

But we're not talking about future patches this entire post is about initial release for Gunner.

Your reading comprehension is very weak
RMH patch is the current patch on console, where gunners are going to be released right now. And during that specific patch they were no longer op like they were during generation/lucid days, in fact they were pretty weak.
Pls learn to read, and go read the rest of my post correctly
