Some newbies questions

Hello all, I am new to tera. I've started playing few hours ago but just wondering how is the game going for the late-game contents? Which is the most populated server for PvE? My timezone is GMT +8 so if anyone from the same timezone, HELLO THERE!

Also, I am quite confused with the gearing and skill system. The first character I chose was a gunner, upon reaching some place, then it told me to enhance my gun. I don't really remembered the weapon level nor the place name, all I did is just spam until it reached +9. Then, I started to collect a red colored stone called 'Isle something'. It needs 10 of them and I not sure what it does. So I was thinking is this the weapon that I will have to keep on enhance, upgrade, rinse and repeat until the late-game? Or eventually I have to keep changing weapon, enhance and so on?

Then for the skill system, I followed this guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Fnzem0YhZbZI1tnmRBu74pUDw5-ljuqeE434CDa_aVs/edit#heading=h.yh6v23ntlkt6. Let's say Blast skill, it got the red color icon there upon adding 4 points. However, for mine, all the icon just greyed out like the first two circles although I added 4 points to it. So I was thinking how does it actually works?

Thanks in advance.

There are guide for every classes if you search this site - http://www.essentialmana.com

About the gear, it's called avatar weapon, you don't need to farm the relic but let the story farm for you instead. Meaning that you don't have to collect all the relic but follow the story quest with your 'current' level and proceed.

Eventually you will have a new reward gear (set) with Supplies and Demands quest after you hit level 60. With that quest, stop doing other quest and proceed with its story and you will get to level 65 easily and get Idoenal set at Highwatch. After that, go to Island of Dawn (IoD) to get another reward set called Dreadnought.

That being said, you don't have to get all relic or avatar weapon.

    Info:
    Level 60 quest reward - teradatabase.net/us/quest/17201/
    Level 65 quest reward - teradatabase.net/us/quest/18310/
Lastly level 65, Dread set quest reward - teradatabase.net/us/quest/21309/

Tips 1 - During level 60, do the mention quest and you will get your new avatar weapon from drops and quest reward.
Tips 2 - Just enchant the weapon only, save any materials or money because you will get your Dread set soon at Island of Dawn (IoD).
Tips 3 - Start Revelation of the Goddess quest (no need to do side-quest), its level 30-50 quest and complete its chain-quest (end with Phantom Menace quest), it will reward you a inner-wear. Providing you a basic inner-wear with additional 3000 HP and an some modifier +1.

P/S - This is 'basic' PVE guide to reach level 65.
  • Makesure you grab a buddy code.
  • The weapon you got is most likely your first avatar weapon. You can enchant it up to +9, and I would advise that you do so. After you level up a bit and start venturing into higher level areas, you will get more relic pieces until you have enough to create your next avatar weapon. At that point, once again enchant it to +9, swap it out with your old one, rinse and repeat. Be careful that you don't accidentally dispose of your new weapon though, this is a common rookie mistake. Anyway, this same basic process will continue until you reach level 65, at which point gear becomes a bit more complicated (refer to guides for that; or, if you'd rather, just create a new topic at that point to ask about gearing up for endgame... many people will probably tell you to "google it" but chances are someone will be willing to fill you in).

As for armor, either equip the best armor you pick up in loot, buy from broker, or craft your own. Personally for leveling, I craft my own armor, but that's strictly personal preference (crafting is not for everyone). You can probably do just fine using whatever armor you pick up along the way.

As for most populated PVE server, I play on TR, and it's fairly populated. I believe it's the most populated PVE server...? Though I could be wrong, and I'm not sure how it compares to CH (the RP server).
  • Alright thank you so much guys! Love you deep deep!

for casual PVE and social events choose Celestial hills server
  • Hello all, sorry still a few question.

    1. I always pick up the loots from mobs so my bag went full quite frequently. However, when I am away from town, I seldom see the merchant NPC for me to sell the stuffs. So I have to run all the way back to town and its very time consuming. Any idea to remotely sell stuffs?
    2. What do I do with the previous avatar weapon? My gunner is level 20 now. She's with +9 Hisser (previous one) and the latest one which is Pixie Tube.
    3. What does the feedstock for? I read the description and it says upgrade tier 1 equipment but what kind of equipment? Because so far I am only using the Alkahest for weapon upgrades.
    4. How do I dash? I watched some online video and their character runs pretty fast. Is it sort of like the features for VIP player?

    Thanks in advance!

    1. While leveling you'll just have to go back to town to the merchant. You can dismantle your old gear or gear from another class and it'll break it down to feedstock. Also in velika there is an inventory manager so you can use gold to make your inventory bigger. Later in the game you'll get access to scrolls that'll summon a temporary merchant in front of you.
    2. For previous avatar weapons, make sure you have your crystals out of it, then just sell it at a merchant or discard it.
    3. You use a combination of feedstock and alkahest to enchant your weapon.
    4. Some classes have certain skills that increase movement speed. (i.e. beserker's dash)

Welcome to Tera. Since others have already said a good deal of things, here's what I can say.

As for bag space, the banker guy in any village/city can now expand your inventory space for a price the same as the Velika guy(you may have already obtained some bag expansions because one of the now red marked quests at Velika after leaving Stepstone isle sends you to the bag space guy). Also, you will see gathering nodes like plants, rocks and energy formations. Gather those to level your three gathering proficiencies. At max gathering level(350), your inventory space also increases. Each zone allows you to level up your gathering to a certain amount, so when you get a message that your gathering level for a certain material type cannot be increased, just keep doing quests until you reach other zones and try again. Lastly, leveling to max also gives you more inventory space.

To increase bank space, though, you must buy bank expansions, either by using EMP on the cash shop or buying for gold from other players on the trade broker.

Other notes. You don't need to hoard everything you see. Much of the stuff mobs drop sells for very little so it's not so worth collecting it to sell to merchant. You will speed through levels and get money faster by concentrating on quests or better, dungeons. Other than your avatar weapon, dungeon gear is the best stuff you can wear on your chest, glove and boot slots. Also remember about crystals. Wear those on your weapon and chest piece, and remove them from those when not using the gear after overleveling it and obtaining new gear.
  • Hey all, just checking with you all that how is brawler doing for the current patch? I saw some posts regarding brawler is broken but those posts were kinda old and I could not find a recent one. The skills are so flashy, I liked!

Brawler is and will still be easy and strong for awhile. No news of any big nerf for that class. Only tweaks here and there mainly aimed at pvp balancing.
