And theres no answer about cpu usage, now players that dont use anything and already play with fps drops will have more problems, meanwhile players that use every cheat will not be affected.

Again I will say, I have many games that use Xingcode and I don't have performance issues.

People are being over paranoid about this and if proxy is not affected at all then most players won't have issues with this, so this thread is no more productive than a discusion between old hags in the supermarket.

Ok you dont, but other people say they have this problem on other games. And im worried because im already trying to hit gray blobs on fwc and cs at 0 presets, so the next step is low dimishing?

So why dont you tell your specs, maybe it can help with some paranoid.

3 laptops and 1 alpha console with laptop hardware

    1 Lenovo Y400, core i7 1.7 GHz, 6 GB RAM DDR3, NVidia GeForce GT655M 2 GB VRAM GDDR5

    1 Alpha console i7-4765T. core i7 2.0 GHz, 8 GB RAM DDR3, NVidia GeForce GTX 850M 2 GB VRAM GDDR5

    1 Lenovo Y520, core i5 2.5 GHz, 8 GB RAM DDR4, NVidia GeForce GTX 1050 2 GB VRAM GDDR5

    1 Lenovo Y700, core i7 2.6 GHz, 12 GB RAM DDR4, NVidia GeForce GTX 960M 4 GB VRAM GDDR5

Even in the Y400 I can run TERA at 20 FPS in video settings presets 4

Probably will not affect since it consumes ram right? And that is not the problem i have.

Not going to lie on this, some times TERA closes because it reaches almost 3 GB RAM usage, however Xingcode on other games doesnt use even 0.01% of my RAM and my SSD usage is always below 10%.

Windows it self with random process (before installig games that use Xingcode) can make you SSD reach the 100% also some antivirus so actually Xingcode is not the issue itself for those who may have excesive disc usage or memory leaks.

Im on the excessive usage part lol

But tera itself doesnt use more than 30-40% of my ram, its just my graphic card that is outdated.

buy gtx 970 and play tera in vr B)

I never thought i'd take a break from TERA. Been playing it almost every single day since May 2012. I thought i would be with the game until its final shutdown and never thought i'd have to stop. But will not be running the game again come Thursday this week, until they decide not to have basically an NSA backdoor installed on my PC. I can't risk installing this kelogging/malware/file monitoring program on my pc.

I use my PC for everything and do my banking and bill payments with it, and have a lot of personal information stored on it from all my personal business and billing information, to photos from my entire family and can't risk any theft of it being sent out and used as blackmail against me or my family.

so you dont use your smartphone for that ?

To even play this game now, you'd basically need a burner PC that just runs TERA and nothing else, because once you have this installed your PC, it will be compromised and will not be safe to do anything You won't be safe to read emails, log into any websites, nothing. Everything you do will be captured and logged, and any valuable information will be exploited against you.
Is there actually any substantiated evidence to support this claim? This software is used actively by other major Korean MMOs, including BDO and BnS, all EME's other games, and TERA in Korea and Japan. Is there any evidence that anyone's computers been compromised in this way? If there's any evidence of anything like this actually happening, all these companies need to know so they can sue the hell out of Wellbia for the liability they imposed.

so if i read correctly @seandynamite the edits to get decent fps because you all refuse to optimize the game may be gone with this patch, also from reading what is xigncode3, if i use my keyboard or mouse software which i use to map keys differently that can also according to xigncode be detected as a threat......nice job guys nice job, if only you and your predecessor was here earlier bless might have been a success cuz you guys would have killed so may titles.

I don't think proof of it happening is the point here - The point is that EME, a company who is fairly well known for being inept and lying to their customers both intentionally and unintentionally, has just asked every single TERA player to install a keylogger and file system scanner on their own computer, to send our data to a third party. Not only that, but all the evidence points to this malware not even working for it's intended function. So, basically EME is just asking us to send *everything* we do on our computers for 48 hours before playing tera to a third party for NO reason whatsoever. That's the problem people have with this change.

That's also not true, though. It's not a keylogger. It does not "send *everything* we do on our computers for 48 hours before playing tera to a third party" at all. It scans the files and hashes them to scan against known signatures, like how an anti-virus works. Yeah, even that is more invasive than I'd like, but it's not the same thing.

I'm not a fan of this software, and I do think it's pointless as long as it's completely ineffectual at its supposed function (I wouldn't have introduced it until I was sure it actually solved a problem that needed solving, if it were up to me), but the FUD about what it does is just so completely through the roof that I have no idea where people are getting it from. I don't think it's necessary to lie and exaggerate about what the software does to convince EME that it's a bad idea, because EME already knows these lies and exaggerations aren't true anyway, and are just FUD. It hurts the argument people are trying to make! I've no problem if an army of people come on to say they don't want to install it, they don't trust it, they don't think it'll work, on and on and on; there's plenty to choose from.

I've read different forum posts about this. People said it scans your folders and logs almost everything, which explains its extremely high cpu usage that people claim it has... which makes sense since scanning folders and keylogging everything would take a lot of cpu. From there who knows what its doing. Could easily capture all your file names on your pc and send it somewhere. Log your IP, and at anytime search for whatever they want to use against you, you would never know because to run the game you would have to give it internet access, which is just a wide open backdoor to your entire pc.

I spent a few minutes at https://www.wellbia.com/home/en/ which is their website. I made a more advanced websites back in the mid 1990s when i was a punk kid who was brand new to the internet. It gives me the chills to see a unprofessional website like that, there is no personal contact information on who the CEO of the company is, just vague company address, no accountability.

Best advice, just wait it out and in a few months and see if they still use this malware. TERA has the best combat i've ever seen, love it so much, its a perfect solo mmo game which i love but still not gonna risk my personal safety and my computers security for a game.

you know when you use google or facebook or any microsoft product on internet you already install this third party to send all your info on your computer and unfortunally even your internet provider send your data to someone else :)

Just like an anti-virus would, it scans your entire computer, except this hashes the data, then references it to known cheats/hacks/exploits, as Counterpoint mentioned.

I don't know if our version will do that. But the fact that it touches the files to hash them does not mean that it's uploading them either, any more than any anti-virus software, anti-malware software, or other similar tool.

Healthy scepticism is fine, but it's like people have taken all the most paranoid voices around the Internet on this topic and combined them as if that's what it does based on well they could do all these other things too, maybe and we just can't trust them.
