  • IM having terrible lag spikes right now.
Anyways, i dont think there is anything to do with your trace route.
Sadly, we are south americans and they dont care a sh*** about us.
The only solution to high ping, is closer servers to our location, and it is not going to happen ever.

Do you know if they switched anything in the last week or so?

I went from 15 ping (relatively close to the servers) to spiking 300-2000 during primetime.

Doesn't look like anything switch globally anyway. But it may be something changed between you and there. Here's what I'm seeing at the last hops to the DC. What are you seeing?

I am getting the same massive lag, only on Tera, I don't know what they did or what its happening, but I used to have 90 to 100 ping now it's 300+ in highwatch, and even got up to 8000 during a CS match
  • Could be related to the xigncode push out.

Also, may want to check if it is just with TERA or if it is also affecting the latency to your router as well. What I mean is in the past (this was before xigncode) I was getting horrible ping lag when playing TERA. When this ping lag was happening, I found that even pinging my router resulted in excessive lag. Fixed it for the most part with TERA by setting up traffic shaping on my system.
  • I ran a traceroute to eme diag address and everything was fine until it got to the actual eme servers, rocketed up to 300, I'm not having problems with any other game or app, sadly I cannot change my router's configuration, my ISP blocks access to it. Sadly I think I might be forced to leave the game.
  • Many players are saying that xigncode is causing increased lag for them. I wonder if the server components to xigncode may be causing lag on the servers.

Well, generally the performance of my Tera didn't change with this xihncode. But the spikes are different from what I had before. They are like freezes. And yes I also have delay when opening bank/guild/inventory. Before this $hitty soft everything was fine and spikes were just spikes.

Sounds like the ping lag increased quite a bit for you. Reminds me of what I was dealing with before setting up traffic shaping on my system. Sometimes the ping lag would get so bad that the client appeared to get out of sync with the server. Everything would just stand there. Sometimes I could still move my character but not attack. When that happened I would have to exit the client without using the logout function since the logout function wouldn't even work when the client got in that state.

Yes pretty much this about combat. And inventory/bank/guild feels more like delay. (im not sure i can express it good))) It's always the same delay and all those three windows never open immediately like they did before this update. Tho I have good fps and no any issues with net in any other games. Ofc its playable. Or i just got used to net [email protected] in two years but delays annoying. If only someone could fix it...i need to open inventory and fast use something and I can't because its "thinking" :\. In some circumstances I can't wait rly. And I have not enough buttons even at two filled to brim panels to place there more stuff from my inventory.

That inventory issue sounds like ping lag to me. I have also experienced such a symptom before. I suspect that the client needs to communicate with the server to open the inventory. I wonder if xigncode is messing with the packets.

Even before the last update, I was seeing huge lags spikes with inventory and bank. It started a couple of weeks ago when server populations increased. Please keep in mind this is no school time for most, so you'll have a lot more people playing and bogging down servers. I know I seem like a moron stating the obvious, but my kids play about 20 different games a piece each day, and they are seeing a drastic increase in server populations in all of their games. Fortunately, most of the games they play are optimized better than this one.

@RandomElin when it's ping issues I have this delay different. But this one is always same. Like when you pay something for example and you get message "processing". Just shorter. My ping generally didn't change and i didn't have delay before update in such way. Yes in peak times it could occur but its lengh was always depending on how high ping I have- shorter, longer.. It's just too long for my usual ping but too same and short for spikes. That's why your theory about xigncode messing something most likely right. I didn't ever have such thing before in Tera.
Also I'm from EU and I don't play peak times.
But no one will do anything about it I guess. Take it or leave. :confounded:
