You can farm that amount with 4 characters but not in the time he said because you need to run 2 and 3 star dungeons after doing IoD tier 1 bams.

But if you did IoD 16 times to get the majority of those you would have no vanguards left for dungeons, so all you would get would be the boss drops, which wouldn't be anywhere near enough to make up the 900 talent difference.

From a 2 star dungeon you get from 6 to 8 golden talents, also from a 3 star dungeon, you have 3x2 star dungeons and 3x3 star dungeons if you have elite that is 4x6=24 and if you take 7 as an average drop then that is 24x7=168, if you use a reset scroll then that will be 2x168 = 336 and if you add what you had from IoD then it will be 336+224 = 560 from only one character.

Like I said above, the issue is not that you can't farm that amount of talents with 4 characters, the issue is that it is imposible to farm that amount in that time with only 4 characters.

You can't say someone is lazy because they'd prefer to do dungeons with friends rather than farming solo trash all day long, dungeons don't give nearly enough talents to make up for how much you need to enchant and upgrade gear, and especially alts, I've got about 1.3mil gold in diamonds from the last month just sitting in my bank, I probably farmed about 10k golden talents in the past month, I have 2 stormcry alts and 3 frostmetal alts and I basically started with almost nothing back in december because I switched servers, I farm events when I get the chance, but I absolutely hate grinding for it this way, it's not a good way of making people gear up, after just grinding talents, gold AND exp for the first 2 characters i wanted to not do it anymore, this system is absolutely trash, without double vanguards (which isn't permanent anymore), you get 112 gold talents per 16 vanguards, which means without double vanguards you need to do about 7-10 characters worth of vanguards just to get to frostmetal from twist, which is basically hours spent not farming more exp from dungeons or playing with friends in a MULTIPLAYER game because of how much worse it is to farm iod with someone else, so on top of being forced to grind for golden talents for about a day to two weeks depending on how many alts you have, you're gonna have to grind for exp and gold (assuming you're not gonna bruteforce enchantments, but if you do, expect to use about 2x as many golden talents and ~70k-100k gold) because low tier iods don't give a lot of exp and even gold, and so for anyone with 10+ alts, a lot of spare time and no friends to play with, sure it'd seem like a fine system, but for anyone who's not like that, it's not gonna be very appealing to gear up multiple characters to just frost because of how long it would take, and that's not even considering how many talents you need to get through frost for a 446 ilvl, and through stormcry for a 453 ilvl which allows you to do 5 more dungeons rather than the same boring dungeons that you can power through in under 10 minutes and facetank 90% of the mechanics in.

    ur just lazy
stop trying to organize hard content runs, that's for lazy ppl
go spam low tier iods alone instead
welcome 2 the rice field

(but really though this post is dead on accurate and if you disagree you probably don't even enchant and just sell talents for gold)

Did you read a single thing I said just a few posts up? Do you even have multiple alts geared in frost or past it?

I completely agree. BHS seems to only care about pushing casual players up against a wall, so they are forced to buy emp to trade for gold. Which is one of the reasons why the game is so dead. feelsbadman

but no such wall exists and you aren't forced to buy any emp ever

pulling the "i have a life lol" card is absurd, you're arguing about something that happens in a virtual video game

Nobody is "forced" to do anything. I haven't spent any money on this game, yet I've managed to amass a modest fortune through casual grinding and some trading. Gold is there for those who actually want to, and work to, make it. Of course the people who dedicate more time or money will make more, but to say you're "forced" to do it is just misleading.

And do you actually use anything you farm? Or do you just farm iod all day then not use it to upgrade gear and just sell it? Besides, farming the easiest thing in the game shouldn't be the most efficient way of making money, it just makes people not want to run any actual challenging content which is the complete opposite of what it should be like.

I read an interesting bit in some historic texts about how the Native Americans, which are often mistakenly named "Indians" due to a navigational mistake, wasted nothing when they hunted. The hide, the meat, and the bones were all used for one thing or another. I've forgotten the source, but I haven't forgotten the lesson. Sometimes I use the Talents right away. Sometimes I flip them for money, and then turn around and buy Talents at a cheaper rate. Sometimes I just sell them and stash the money. I'm not as active as I used to be, and I have more than one character I'm working on, but I try to be versatile. The answer to your question ultimately depends on how I'm feeling that day. I think what you're really getting at is "Are you actually gearing up as a casual player, or are you advancing financially?" To that I'd say "Why do the two have to be mutually exclusive?" As for the latter part of your comment... I agree, but TERA has operated in this backwards fashion for so long that I don't know if the developers/publishers could change if they wanted to. There's a variety of factors that prevent BHS from pushing people toward proper endgame content. The foremost reason is that people hate change.

And what gear are those characters in? The two are mutually exclusive, if you wanna gear up you're not gonna be able to sell golden talents and vice-versa too, just flipping between the two means you're gonna have to eventually farm even more to be able to do the other thing, and it's even worse if you choose to upgrade gear because you have to actually use gold for it too. There is a good fix for it, EU has had it for a long time, I'm not completely sure if I got the numbers right but in EU dungeons give marks which let you buy like 50 golden talents per run with tokens you get from the dungeon, and you can also get something else with those tokens if you want, that's a good way to handle it, I'm pretty sure people have made threads about it too but EME either said nothing or just didn't care.

1792 talents per hour and a half spent with only 4 alts. The problem isnt talents. Its the mass influx of players with worthless gold from MCAs that want to just buy talents from broker. On the otherhand, silver talents are indeed a problem.

How'd you get 1792 talents from 4 alts when the most you can get is 896?

He is lying. People love to throw around silly numbers like they are rap stars.
