If I partition my boot drive, can I avoid XIGNCODE?

Not sure how XIGNCODE works, but I don't like the idea of it installing a rootkit. If I were to partition my storage drive, and then install windows 10 on the partition, I should be able to install Tera and play on there, without having my personal files on my main partition being accessible, right?

Or should I just install windows on a separate hdd/ssd used for gaming only.
  • If someone wnat to use that backdoor, they will stil see all your partitions anyways.

No, this rootkit affects your OS.
You need to rollback your windows prior to update or reinstall completly.
It installs a driver in C:\windows and several registry entries.
if you have to ask here, you're probably not skilled enough to clean up manually.

    Good luck.

Okay thanks. I have all my drivers and required software installers backed up to a usb, so reinstalling windows isn't a problem. I generally do a fresh install every 3 months.

    Separate system entirely.

It's not that difficult for an inexperienced person. Search for hunter1.sys and then google how to manually edit the registry for the remaining files. There's simple FAQ's/how-to's about it from the many players that left BDO and BNS because of it. Here is one of many:
