End Game Instance Loot Not Balanced.
Hello,
Just wondering if the end-game instance loot tables will ever be buffed?
Currently, the easiest level venguard quests and dungeons give the best rewards.. and that is a problem!
I've seen many complaints regarding this issue over the past two years on these forums, with little to no action from BHS.
I'd like to ask again that this loot issue be fixed and point out that Blizzard Entertainment had this issue in the past, and released new items which were specific to their harder content to make up for the poor loot table, and they did this within weeks of hearing about the complaints... not years.
Just wondering if/when BHS will start taking the health of Tera seriously so I can stop playing WoW and come home.

like golden and silver talent there is no drops of them on 4/5 stars dungeon.
"best rewards" is subjective. the "easiest level vanguard quests and dungeons" do not drop any materials needed to enchant stormcry gear, whereas the highest level dungeons do. top ilvl vgs also offer far more item exp than the very little you'll get elsewhere.
then i would run 10000000x
Is BHS really in charge of loot tables though? I thought EME was in charge of those. Yeah, higher dungeons give you stuff to enchant stormcry, but what if you already have maxed stormcry? Why can't you get better mats along with higher gold incentives to? It's not like stormcry is free to enchant.
EME can indeed affect loot tables, they're just choosing not to for whatever reason. They buffed feedstock drops in the past and made masterwork alkahest easier to obtain, I don't see why they can't do it now.
If you don't mind me asking, what does the OP's profile have to do with the current discussion at hand?
Dungeon reward and item XP revision | K TERA Dev Note
Hello, this is developer Moongchi.
This Developer Note will address the changes coming to dungeon rewards and item XP distribution coming June 14th, as well as future updates.
Dungeon reward revision
Currently many players are in a situation where they go to dungeons for gold and item XP, but its insufficiency forces players to supplement it via Guardian Legion mission and other solo contents.
To resolve this inconvenience, dungeon rewards will be revised to give players efficient rewards as well as rewards that properly matches with the level of gear worn.
Item XP and gold from dungeon rewards and enchanting material consumption will be changed.
Dungeon rewards are currently set up to mostly give Metamorphic Emblems and related enchanting materials, in return for less gold. on the other hand, we’ve also confirmed that contents with the most efficient time-gold ratio have been used more frequently to compensate for the lack of gold.
In order to intervene the situation where players are forced to play select contents that give better gold rewards, gold and item XP rewards will be revised to be best rewarded when item level matches the dungeon item level requirement and decrease rewards as item level requirement decreases.
Dungeon reward revision specifics (may change in the official patch)
Item level 446 :
Before :
500 item XP
950 Vanguard Request gold
After :
750 item XP
2,200 Vanguard Request gold
* Adjustments to increase gem drop
Item level 439 :
Before :
720 Vanguard Request gold
After :
1,500 Vanguard Request gold
* Adjustments to increase gem drop
Item level 431 :
Before :
200 item XP
700 Vanguard Request gold
After :
150 item XP
500 Vanguard Request gold
Item level 412 :
Before :
600 Vanguard Request gold
After :
150 Vanguard Request gold
Dungeon rewards will significantly increase for dungeons requiring item level 439 and above, while relatively decrease rewards for dungeons requiring lower item level, and as such enchanting material requirements for Guardian gear and Twistshard gear will be adjusted to match the revised dungeon rewards
Guardian gear : Decrease Golden Talent and gold consumption by approximately 40%
Twistshard gear : Decrease Golden Talent and gold consumption by approximately 30%, decrease item XP consumption by approximately 20%
The update above will relatively decrease the time it will take to enchant from Guardian/Twistshard gear to Frostmetal gear.
Later, I did the new dungeon, Antaroth's Abyss. Whole thing took about 30 minutes. From tanking that, I got one (1) pansophic ash. It actually dropped a mask, which was the first I'd seen EVER, since the patch dropped, but hey. At least it exists. I was starting to think it didn't. Too bad somebody else got it since everyone in the group rolled on the thing.
Then I went and soloed Ravenous Gorge. I got 3 silver talents, 7 gold talents, and a bunch of trash I could convert into metas for more materials. I sold the talents and in total made more than I made from doing the "challenging" group content. It took me six (6) minutes.
You guys should seriously tweak this; it's horrible and makes it barely worth doing harder stuff. Even when something good DOES drop, you make the team fight among each other for the reward which only creates jealousy since everyone needs the item, everyone worked for it, but only one person gets it. For example, I know someone who cleared Antaroth's Abyss Hard Mode and got both of the sought after crafting material drops today. That's great for her, but it sucks for everyone else in the group who spent literally several hours a day in there trying to figure the place out. The situation with masks is also particularly atrocious; you made masks the focal point of your content patch, even naming the patch after the item, yet NOBODY I know has gotten one until today. Like, if the stats on a mask are random to begin with, you could at least boost the drop rate so we see them every once in a while, especially if you're gonna make it so we can only do these mask dungeons once a [filtered] day.
Tried to just be chill while writing this out but it's so annoying like sometimes, everything you guys do, I feel like I would do the opposite thing. Why would you release a new dungeon and then make a dungeon highlight event centered around Kalivan's Dreadnaught, the most boring mid tier content in the game? Why wouldn't you center it around the new dungeon, to incentivize learning it and taking advantage of it while it's fresh? Why would you make masks the main focus of your event and then keep the drop rate ridiculously low and limit them only to the hardest dungeons in the game, effectively stopping most people from even enjoying it, including the people capable of clearing that content? Why, when the game is so incredibly dead, would you choose to wait another week before starting the recycled summer events instead of just releasing them now to get people back into the game? Like, nothing you guys do makes any sense to me; it constantly feels like opposite day in here. Hard dungeons barely give anything, easy stuff gives thousands of gold worth of drops. New dungeons come out and then get ignored while old recycled dungeons get events centered around them. XIGNCODE gets brought in and the number of bots double. wtf m8
Really don't want to end this on a negative note. Positive suggestions: some kind of coin shop for masks to offset the rng; each 446 gives 1 token, a masks costs 50. A box or something that gives talents as a reward for high tier content so I can actually get people to run this stuff instead of just KC/RG which is objectively more rewarding. EU already has a system set up, so it's not like you'd have to create the wheel. I know ktera has come out with a revamp for this broken system but we'll have to wait 6 months for it and NA will be a ghost town by the time we get it, so some intervention would be greatly appreciated.
had you ran with 2 others, based on your other examples you would have gotten 2 wood scraps per boss and maybe a single gold talent. the drops from rg would also only total up to 1k tops
I like how this is the thing you decided to focus on, and you're not even correct. With joy of partying buffs, I would've actually had a chance at getting MORE stuff, not less. I just didn't feel like forming a group so I went alone and, admittedly, got pretty lucky at the final boss.
edit: I'm sleepy, but I do get what you're saying. Here's what I mean though. When I do RG in groups, I see several stacks of golden and silver talents. I pretty much always get one of those stacks. When I go alone, I see 1 stack of talents per boss, and I always get that stack. All that changes is the number of talents, which just depends on how lucky I am at the time. Either way, it's better than a single hypnotic device from a boss that took nearly as long as a low tier dungeon just to kill.
The point is that soloing a 2-star dungeon ended up being significantly more rewarding than running a new 4/5-star dungeon with a standard party.
Make dungeons rewarding! Make 439+ rewarding. Let people really enjoy runs and gain something except tag "skilled".
People struggling to get talents to upgrade their gear and at the end they AGAIN have to farm IOD for different mats because high tier dungeons aren't rewarding enough. They give literally 1 item per WHOLE RUN that takes waay more time than KC where in five minutes you get piles of loot that you can convert to emblems.
You can spam 2 stars in your full stormcry and literally bathe in talents! So what for we actually need this gear? What for we need to do high tier dungeons? To show off that you will not insta die and you're skilled at iframing? Do we need stormcry to spam low lvl dungeons faster? For IOD? It's a BS!
Question to eme: Why the most boring and stupid content in game is much more rewarding than interesting, hard and demanding?
This trouble is only about incompetence of EME who barely play game. About their nonlogical events with raining gems, strongbox events, about their double vanguard removing and about the fact that they don't play game enough and have no idea about how lame rewarding all above 2 stars.
I will be very happy if changes that Ktera wants to implement will be done faster. I'm all up for this.
You actually won't be very happy with the changes KTera makes. In the future, you'll be getting 2500 gold from a 439+ but only 150 (?) from a 412. So say good bye to ever helping your friends. Say good bye to running four quick KC and four quick RG if you only have about 45m-1hr to play today. And you'd better hope your static is always on when you are, and that the LFG is filled with skilled people who don't take an hour to clear a 446, or else you're still losing mats, but now you make less gold in more time.
Don't misunderstand me, I think BHS should buff 439+ drops like we've been asking for about a year and a half (Since original RMHM,) but in typical BHS fashion, they buff something and then they nerf something that didn't need to be nerfed.
