Priest or Mystic, what did you choose and why?
Hello, I want to get into healing and I've played and leveled both a priest and mystic. But can't decide what to focus on. I would try to gear both but I don't think that's possible at this point due to enchanting cost. I was wondering if someone could recommend which class is more preferred this patch? Also do both classes have similar survivability? Are both classes viable in pvp? I know I'm asking for a lot but if someone would give me some feedback it would be most appreciated. Thanks again!

Priest for me is a safer pick for healer when awakened. It has so many burst heals and cleansing is faster self heal is more reliable. What it lacks is damage boost for your team for faster runs. In short priest is more safer if you go with randoms and new dungeons.
Mystic on the other hand is more for experience players since most of the time your are required to target your teamates for heals and cleanses. Self healing you need to eat motes which requires you to cast it and pick it up. Not really good for those oh crap moments, but offensively its the best for fast runs. I usually run mystic if my team knows whats it doing and can hold out even if you cant heal as fast as a priest.
Short summary:
Priest: Fast heals, safer self survival lacks offensive buffs.
Mystic: Offensive healer, requires you to lock on most of your heals and cleanses. Thralls give you more DPS
Mystic is better for skilled parties that have already done the dungeon enough times to avoid getting hit by most mechanics. Their offensive active buffs are more potent than priest, but have a higher cooldown. Their crit aura is desirable to most dps compositions and they are suitable for slaying groups since their buffs don't provide passive heal over time.
At the end of the day they're not that terribly different. Mystic has always been the dps choice, but after the awakening skills that gap has been bridged a bit. As far as heal carrying goes, though, priest does it best
As far as what I play, I choose priest. I like its ability to carry groups and heal through damn near anything that isn't a oneshot mechanic. That and it's one of my oldest characters and I'm pretty attached to it
It’s fun and worth while.
Playing a priest is more friendly to play and is able to heal carry much easier than mystic. Immersion heal as almost heal most people to fun.
Easier to use aoe cleanse
.You can physically pull players to your location
More of an incombat healer
Easier to provide mp
Has more potent heals
For mystic, it’s a bit more different to heal. Not necessarily harder. And you have low endurance. Some hit I can tank as a priest I can’t with mystic.
They have an additional debuff
Strong dps from thrall lord and thrall of vengeance
A self res that can res two other people
Crit Aura
Mostly stays out of combat
Can drop dozen of self healing and self cleaning motes
TBH Tanks and Healers are kidna fairly well balanced at the moment (well except for Zerk "Tank" ....).
For Priest and Mystic at the top level both are wanted and it seems to be more about synergy with various DPS classes than anything else, and even that isnt a huge factor. So basically for a healer you can go with whatever you prefer, which is nice!
Not by people with half a brain.
IMO atm even without the "bug" in AAHM Priests make almost identical DPS boost to parties as Mystics. Depending on the classes in party can even be better.
