Let Mystics Queue as DPS

  • In NA the average DPS classes are idiotic enough to deal less damage than a healer .

There's no reason to not let Healers ridiculize those DPS classes who refuse to learn their classes .....

You guys do realize it takes a certain amount of gear, proper rolls, the right jewelry, right consumables, and the right glyphs for mystics to even do somewhat decent DPS, right? Now take the average mentality of an IMS DPS, slap it on a class that's primarily meant to heal, and enjoy all those mystics trying to DPS in full heal sets. Do you really think that's not going to drag your run down?

You fools would be back here complaining about how slow dungeon runs are with mystic DPS in IMS, then. Just because the class has the potential to do decent damage doesn't mean it doesn't take some effort to actually make it viable for that. The average IMS-er is not going to have put in that effort.

Double heal will never drag a run down. Shakan, auras and double debuff more than makes up for the loss of a dps, mystic being able to dps is a PLUS.
  • NA's dps mystic will not hit as hard as KTera's dps mystic due to lack of talent

Have you met IMS healers? Half of them don't even know what an endurance debuff is.

Yes, you're right, double healer when healers know what they're doing isn't going to drag a run down. But go IMS a few times and see what healers you end up with. Promise you most IMS healers aren't competent or are brand new and have no clue what they're doing. There's a reason experienced players don't IMS anything on healers that takes more brain cells than a KC or ABNM.

Letting them queue as a dps is probably the worst idea I've ever heard of. They are a support (healing) class, not a dps class. Just because they can do dps doesn't mean their role has changed. That's like asking to let a priest queue as dps.

Yes this is a good idea. However they should match dps mystic with priest and not dps mystic + heal mystic. I only see it being viable due to the stacking of debuffs and to the people saying it wont work because its meant to be a heal class and people will suck blah blah oh PLEASE. You get sorcs in ims spamming fireball I would rather have a mystic spamming VoC and metamorphic blast. The argument of they cant play dps class properly so they shouldnt be able to dps mystic is dumb. DPS mystic is the easiest class to play as dps once you have rolls.. literally 3 button class.
  • Well, if u want to DPS with a healing class... LFG is made for you!

We have only 2 healing classes, allowing one of them to go as "dps" will drop even more the "good heals" that everyone asks about, because a lot of people will grab theyr mystics and roll them turning them aside of theyr natural purpose.

Mystics are allowed to DPS, and encouraged to do that if they can manage to heal + debuff together, but as a "main function", it's pretty disgusting. Don't misunderstand me. If u wanna try a Mystic DPS, grab some friends and go on, but if you get everyone able to queue as a DPS, then as said before, Gunner as healer will be next and for our 91283918 DPSs classes the queues will be nothing but even more longer.
  • I hope those of you championing this concept realize one thing: Namely, that it wouldn't truly work worth a damn unless you made Mystic a complete hybrid class. With this in mind, do you truly trust BHS to balance a heal/dps hybrid correctly? I, for one, do not.

Biggest problem with this and IMS is, as has been explained, the wide skill gap between players. Giving even more freedom to players who aren't good for this or that reason will only make IMS more toxic. Many top players already avoid IMS like the plague. And some of them go to IMS only to "help the non gifted" players or some thing like that or to just have fun watching people derp and struggle at what they themselves find blindfolded easy. So let's not degrade IMS any further, or it might as well not exist at all.
  • I just finished SSNM 12minute Imperator fight and ninja had 78k dps at the end, so yeah, all kinds of dps circulate around.

When people see Mystics and Priests in a group they expect them to heal. I get that you do damage too, but it would be pretty confusing, especially considering instance matching is random people who don't know what you're up to. If you're really into balancing groups/classes differently than the norm, I'd suggest getting a static group together. With people that can trust that your Mystic DPS is up to snuff, and won't expect you to heal them.

To add, after looking over the skill sets again. You will notice that the thrall pulls agro. It makes more logical sense to have the mystic as a partial tank versus dps. However due to this class being a secondary healer versus primary healer, I agree with Space on that approach. It is better to premake your dungeon team and go your way at it. Because in truth I doubt very seriously you could expect every mystic to dps. People that Dungeon with the already look at them as Primary healers when there is no priest.

Well when I see brawlers in a party I expect them to tank, not outdps warriors, berserkers and sorcs. >:(

Worst case scenario if you let Mystics queue as DPS, you get Priests and Mystics together, doubling the survive-ability of IMS parties and improving overall group DPS. Even if the Mystic doesn't actually use damage skills, the party will benefit from having a second healer.

All you people bashing the idea don't understand that if the Mystic is DPSing, then there is still another healer in the party. The system would have to be altered so only a Priest could be matched in with the DPS Mystic. For those of you that have never tried Priest + Mystic party composition, the DPS is often the same or better than a 1 healer composition. Other people have already mentioned many of the benefits:

    +Double endurance bebuffs on bosses
+Someone who can consistently ressurect the healer without 20 min cooldown
+Priest buffs + Mystic aura = crazy high dps from the actual dps classes
+Smoother runs because of extra heals

Those of you who say it would be trap because of bad Mystics queuing as DPS who don't know how to play, GG, you just described 90% of the DPS players who use IMS anyway. From my personal experience, the healers that use IMS are better than most players that use IMS. If you play Mystic I know you probably support this thread. All you haters probably don't know anything about Mystic anyway.
