Suggestion : Remove 5 cooldown for changing channels

Like in KR, it would be amazing if EME could remove the "You are changing channels." 5 second cooldown when you are surfing to a different channel ! just one of those QOL things that every player wants !

Idk why we don't have this feature in-game. Especially with all the "stream-lining" patches.

Might just be a question of network infrastructure or server resource impact. I mean, switching channels causes a bit of a data spike, since the server needs to send all of the relevant area objects. So people constantly hoping between channels might just be something that causes too much of a lag problem here, especially if they have no delay at all between when they go for the different channel.

I always thought the whole point of taking 5 seconds to change channels was to prevent people from using it to escape a fight when they were losing/about to die. Would removing that be convenient? Yes. Would it be abused? Yes.

What fight is there to escape in the open world now that's "abuse-able"? Anyways most areas have the stupid non-aggro mobs that "notice" you and keep you aggro-ed the full 15 seconds if you go into combat with anything.

well in fight mode you cant change channel

and the guys can use his mount or run to water to escape a fight and with flying mount it is easier to run away than change channel :)
  • I think with the removal of open world PVP in the future there really wouldn't be a need for that channel change timer. +1 To This idea.

The 5 seconds doesn't even do much, since if you're in combat, you can't change channels anyway. And if you were trying to escape potential attackers, you can just auto-walk for the 5 seconds while mounted to maintain distance, and then you will change channel once the timer is up. That's what I did in the Alliance zones last time anyway, since I was a scrub back then.
