you will have to get new ones for your gunner
The further your character is in levels and gear, the more items become locked to that specific character. Tired of the current class and want to roll a new one but with comparable stats/items? Better be ready to grind your junk off/get that wallet out
B#$tt Hole studios will try their best to force you to grind everything from scratch and buy every cosmetic/p2w dragon again.
A game that wanna force ppl reroll so bad need to make it possible to reuse at least cash shop items. That's why even very old games (like Lineage 2 from 2005!) got unbind scroll and a system called "Dual Class" so the player don't waste all of their hard work every time the devs change the "meta" class. (imho BHS is MUCH worse than ncsoft in this regard)
A player that wanna reroll on Tera is faced with a simple question every 6 months: "I need to do everything from scratch and buy everything again, so why not just start on another game?"
If you wanna start from scratch, think twice. EME got some strange order from Korea and nerfed every way of farming anything in the past 2 patches, now you need to wait for events just to farm vanguards at the old usual "2x rate", the same thing applies for dragon tokens, etc.
They think it's a good idea to make a starting/returning players farm only 12 tokens on IOD and start the game without essential glyphs, no wonder we got only 1.25K players now per steamcharts..
I have reason to believe that the (original) dev team didn't think they'd be adding new characters (not enough racial variety to call them "classes" yet, methinks) as fast or as soon as they did. Throw in the usual mix of the new character often being overpowered (Day 1 brawlers anyone?) and there you go. Rather, here we are.
Another problem is that the gaming populace at large is smarter than many devs and publishers want to give credit. I can tell you that I complain about so many things because I've played other games that do those same things better. Warframe lets you purchase boosters and cosmetics with in-game currency; Path of Exile has account-bound cosmetics and bundles out the wazoo; BDO has a system where an item is bound to a class rather than single character; Skyforge actually lets you hotswap classes even during combat, thus negating the need to reroll (or so I choose to believe).
As I said in another thread, I'm pretty sure those teams are smaller than BHS (Digital Extremes and Grinding Gear Games being slight exceptions. you know, Tencent). The aforementioned games don't rely on increasingly nonsensical business practices (...mostly) to stay afloat and their playerbases are generally happy to keep playing the game and show support monetarily. Why can't BHS do some of the same things the other companies do?
