Kick-Bale is Inane!

Not only is it very easy to miss when you are aiming right at it, it can also get stuck and you will only gain a few points while the scarecrows keep hitting it.

Who made this a key part of the game. Very infuriating!

  • And you need to complete one perfectly to get the Salad Dressing needed for very early in the questline. Idiotic!

Just remember that the hit is very short range and aim slightly infront while running in hitting it in circles and it's pretty simple

    The short range gets alot
  • It may be simple for those of you who do great in dexterity games. It will never be simple for me. Nor can I do the rodeo one.

Plus it is a full minute between attempts. I can't even push to improve without wasting my life.

Really bad move on their part. Not enjoyable in the slightest.

It's not really that dexterous (im [filtered] at those), as long as you see the distance marker next to the cursor (and you're in range), you will hit
  • The hit zone is far too narrow. I had many shots go past without hitting while they still went through the ball in the video.

Get the ball stuck and you are done, which is quite easy with 2 of them. The enemies need to be slowed down.

If you're missing shots, then you're not using the skill when the distance marker is visible. Standard rule of Tera: If you see the distance marker, it will hit. You may have to look slightly infront to pick it up but you'll get into the rythmn of it after practice
  • I keep within 5m of it. That and the aiming reticle right on, and I mean on, not over, not to the side, don't try to slice it, on the bale guarantees a hit. I move my char to face the way I want it to go, running in circles around the field with it, should be good enough.
  • Good advice, but I don't try to miss.

The biggest frustration with this is that it is so much more difficult (for some of us at least) than the previous event. The fact that the enemies are a bit too fast and the ball can get stuck in a spot, requiring at least a 1 minute wait to try again.

The hitbox size, enemy speed and delay time would be relatively easy to adjust.
  • I don't even find where exactly to start that mini-game. Literally stood on the quest marker but can't figure it out. Any suggestions? x
  • You have to turn a quest into him if you follow the red chain. He has a "start game" option. Though you cannot do it within 60 seconds of a previous game and it appears to only be 1 character at a time.
  • I agree that the beach and sun temple games were actually fun, but these games are just frustrating and annoying. Thanks to all of the tips from this thread, after wasting several hours of my life, I was FINALLY able to get three hay bale boxes, to get that part of the feat for ONE of my characters. Unfortunately, I will eventually have to suffer through all of that again, for all of my other characters. Definitely NOT today though, because I am just so sick and tired of that game. Does anyone know what I am even supposed to do for the pigling rodeo thing? I have no idea how it is even supposed to be played. I have wasted several hours, got rank 4 twice, but just low score every other time. I know I am supposed to make them follow me, but every time I do the scarecrow just insta-kills them, taking away my points. I have tried everything, but I can't seem to do anything to the scarecrow. Even without him insta-killing them every time, I have no clue WHERE I am supposed to be taking the piglings, once I get them to follow me. This game just makes no sense, and I can't even figure out what I am supposed to do, or where I am supposed to take the piglings. I can barely read the couple of messages that flash on the screen very quickly, each time I begin the game, but I know one of them says something about leaving the fenced area will end the game, so I know I can't lead the piglings outside of the fenced area. Could someone please tell me how this thing is supposed to be played? This pigling game is the ONLY Rootstock feat that my primary character has not yet done, so I definitely want to get it done, then I can take the rest of my characters down this same path of pain and suffering, one at a time.

Rodeo is simple, hit the pigs and keep the safe and don't let the die, employ the exact same strat as hay bale: Running in circles. Hit pigs infront of you to pick up, never stop moving for longer than a single cast and you should rarely ever lose one. If a scarecrow spawns infront, cut across the centre
  • Both are literally the easiest mini-games ever.

With the piglings, all you need to do is continually run around the inside of the square. Continually follow the same direction, gathering a couple of pigs every loop. But about your fourth lap, you will have collected all the pigs, then keep running around until the time is over, then you get R1.

With the hay-bail game, all you need to do is run the ball around in a circle, you need to hit the ball just as it stops moving. If you hit it too early, they can hit it and get points. It moves in a straight line from the direction it was hit, so just angle your player position to keep it moving in a circle. Keep going for the full minute, then you get R1.

Thank you both SO MUCH for the tips!!! I just now literally got the top rank for the pigling rodeo three times IN A ROW! I got my Rootstock Carpet and Moonsilk Carpet (I had done all of the beach and sun temple feats), so at least this character NEVER has to come to Rootstock again! Now, I will just have to deal with these games for my other characters, until they get through it too. Not today though, because I am too burned out on these games for today. Thank you both again! I am SO HAPPY I was able to get that done and over with! :)

You can claim they are easier than the summer ones? Yeah, right.
