    Exactly the everyone else

Idoneal > Slaughter > Guile > Ambush (crafted from high tier dungeon mats, requires 0 skill level)

Vinyltails has already told you the hierarchy of gear. As far as your journey, I will give you my "personal recommendation". Bear in mind I had never heard of Tera until less than three months ago, when I started playing it, so take my advice for what it is worth. I am just a casual gamer who mashes the controller buttons for fun, when I have some spare time, so I am definitely not an expert. I think the quickest and easiest way to get the Slaughter armor is to look for a quest in Highland called "Memory Lost". It is part of the "For the Federation" quests, but they do not have to be done in order. Although you "may" have to do "Fresh Arms and Legs" first (I can't remember for sure). You will find Rimun standing in the entrance area of a large building. Be sure to ACCEPT the quest from him. He will take you in to see Gadin, who will tell you about the Echo Arcana and you will go into that solo dungeon. Once you complete the dungeon, BE SURE to talk to Rimun first (the one who gave you the quest). He will give you a smart box with a Slaughter weapon for your class (I "think" he also gives you a smart box with chest armor, but I can't remember for sure), along with some other stuff for finishing the quest. While you are still inside the dungeon, at the end next to the exit teleportal, you will get a couple of random pieces of the Slaughter armor which may or may not be appropriate for your class, along with a couple of other little goodies. If you did not get all of the appropriate armor pieces for your class, to make a full set, then I suggest enchanting up the Slaughter weapon Rimun gives you, and go back in and do it again (it gets a little easier, once you have a Slaughter weapon and some Slaughter armor, instead of just Idoneal). You can go into it twice a day, every day, and you will get a couple of random Slaughter armor pieces at the end, every time (Rimun only gives you the smart box the first time, when you do the initial quest). If the dungeon decides to drop chest armor or a weapon, then it will come in a smart box, so you will be able to use it. If it drops hand or feet armor, then you may get something you cannot use, but you may get lucky and get the right one for your class. I don't think I have had to do the dungeon more than three or four times, before I got the full Slaughter set. Once your gear level is high enough, you will see "Echo Arcana" in your list of daily Vanguard challenges, but be sure to actually go and do the quest first, so you get the smart box and other rewards from Rimun.

Once you have Slaughter gear, and have it enchanted up, you should be ready to do the Celestial Arena and Ace Dungeons. I recommend first doing the "Champion's Challenge" and "Endless Asceticism" quests (both under the "Rookie's Challenge" quest line), for the quest rewards. If your gear level is high enough, then Celestial Arena, Baracos' Trial, and Akasha's Trial will show up in your daily Vanguard challenges. At least I "think" they are gear level related, but maybe just level 65, I don't know for sure, I just know they show up at some point in my daily list. Once you can do them as daily challenges, you can get "Intercede Tokens" as daily Vanguard rewards. Collect enough of them, and you can trade them for Guile armor and weapons. You can also get Demense jewelry with them.

There are also monsters you can fight on the Island of Dawn. They appear in your daily Vanguard challenges, once your gear level is high enough. There are three levels of monsters there, and they are given randomly in your daily Vanguard challenges, but when you go and beat up a group of them and finish that challenge, then another from that same tier of monster will show up in your challenges, so you can do multiples of the same tier of monster/token each day. The tokens you receive from the daily Vanguard challenges for the different tiers of monsters are Undercede > Intercede > Supercede. Undercede can be traded for Slaughter armor, so you can farm the low tier monsters on Island of Dawn for the Slaughter armor, but I personally think the Echo Arcana dungeon I described above is a much faster and easier way to get it. Intercede is what I described above, for the Celestial Arena and Ace Dungeons, so you can farm them there for Guile armor and Demense jewelry, or from the mid-tier monsters on Island of Dawn, or sort of "mix and match" like I do, so it is less boring to farm for them. Supercede can be farmed from doing the daily Vanguard challenges for the top tier monsters on Island of Dawn. Supercede tokens do not have any armor, but they do have more of the Demense jewelry and the cleansing brooch. Of course, you can also trade tokens for glyphs, so definitely do not forget about that. For each level of token, you can trade six (6) tokens for one (1) of the next higher level token (6 Undercede=1 Intercede and 6 Intercede=1 Supercede). Trading up tokens can be good way to get the higher level tokens, if you prefer not doing the higher level challenges. I get a lot of my Supercedes by trading in Intercedes, just because it takes SO LONG for me to have to fight the top tier monsters. For the daily Vanguard challenges, to get some Supercede tokens, I have to kill 10 top tier monsters, but it usually takes me about 30 minutes of fighting, to do that. For that amount of time, I can run Celestial Arena twice and Baracos' Trial twice, so four challenges for a bunch of Intercedes vs. one challenge for a few Supercedes, 30 minutes either way. I just don't have the kind of time to do the top tier monsters a bunch of times every day, for multiple characters, but that is just me. :)

Again, I have only been playing Tera for less than three months, and I don't know that much about the game, except that it is fun to mash the buttons on my controller when I have spare time, and make monsters fall down. Of course, I honestly PREFER the gathering, crafting, and other really fun and relaxing aspects of the game, instead of just a bunch of boring fighting, but fighting is a necessity in most video games, in order to progress in the story line and to get better gear, so I do it because I have to. Those are just "my personal" preferences for what I consider to be the quickest and easiest ways to get geared up to Guile gear. I currently have two berserkers, one gunner, and one sorceress, and each of them has fully enchanted Guile gear, full Demense jewelry, and Cleansing brooches (other junk too, like Simple Quickcarve and Simple Empowered brooches, but from what I have read, the things I listed are considered higher tier than my other stuff). Three of my characters have gear level 424 and the other one has 423. For my first character, it took me some time to figure out where to go and what to do for armor and stuff, but the next three characters were a breeze, because I had already figured it out with my first character. The methods I described above are what work quickly and easily for me, but may not necessarily be the best way for everyone.

I am only 5 Lady Handkerchiefs and 1 Envy Crystal away from making my first Ambush weapon, but I will never have full Ambush gear, because I am a solo player. As Vinyltails said, the Ambush gear is generally crafted from materials won from higher level 65 dungeons. All of the story line dungeons were easy enough for me to solo, and I can solo the easy higher level dungeons like Macellarious Catacombs, but the most difficult level 65 dungeons that drop Ambush gear or materials are too difficult for me to do alone. Every time I try one of them, I cannot get past the first boss. Other people may drop some advice in here for the dungeons, as far as the best way to work toward Ambush gear.

    ^This.
One thing I do want to point out is that as a Dps and or Tank, don't use Cleansing Brooch. This is because it's a dps lost due to Cleansing Brooch only cleanse you from harmful effects and doesn't give you any dps boost (you have healer(s) for this). Cleansing Brooch is situational as compared to Simple Quickcarve and Simple Empowered brooches. These two brooches (depending on the dps class) are almost mandatory and give dps boost when activate (really good if activate during bosses enrage). Try to get Superior Quickcarve and Enpowered brooches (the better versions of Simple Quickcarve and Empowerd brooches), then work toward Quatrefoil Brooch (current patch best in slot brooch until Marrow Brooch). Cleansing Brooch is good for healer classes. If you just put Cleansing Brooch on just because of that extra 1 or 2 Item Level, don't; it's a waste as a Dps and or Tank.

Thanks a lot for the clarification on the brooches. I learned a lot in this game from people like your and Vinyltails' posts in these forums, and it was reading stuff from all of you experienced players who are willing to help out all of us noobs, that helped me figure out how to progress in Tera. :)

I forgot to mention above, when you are figuring out which grinds work best for you, be sure to look at the token rewards for the daily Vanguard challenges AND the drops from a couple of the challenges themselves. You can do Celestial Arena, Baracos' Trial, and Akasha's Trial twice each, every day. However, if you do them and then use an instance reset scroll, you can go back in and do them again. Just use the scroll wisely, because it is a several hour cool-down before you can use it again, so be sure you have completed every dungeon you plan to do that day, before resetting. Reset scrolls also work for Echo Arcana, if you are still working on getting the Slaughter gear (the daily Vanguard challenges will give you 20 Undercede tokens each time you complete Echo Arcana, which you can trade for Intercede tokens, at a 6:1 ratio). Every time you defeat Celestial Arena, you will get rewards through Parcel Post, including some Intercede tokens, from the Arena itself (in addition to the daily Vanguard challenge rewards). I normally get rank 1 in Celestial Arena, which nets me 12 Intercede tokens on top of the Vanguard reward of 15, for a total of 27 Intercede every time I do it, as long as I have not yet hit my maximum of 8 Vanguard challenges for the day (you would still get the tokens from the Arena itself, if you have already done 8 Vanguard challenges, but you won't get the extra 15 from the daily Vanguard rewards). If you finish Celestial Arena, but get less than rank 1, then you will still get some extra Intercede tokens, but a lesser amount, depending on your rank. If you do the Ace Dungeons (Baracos' Trial and Akasha's Trial), then BE SURE to check the FLOOR OF THE DUNGEON, before you go out the exit teleportal. They always drop a box of Intercede tokens for you after the last boss monster, but it is sometimes difficult to see it, especially in Baracos' Trial, because the box tends to "blend in" with the color and pattern of the floor, so be sure to always look for your Intercede tokens at the end of each Ace Dungeon. I always seem to get 5 Intercede tokens at the end of the Ace Dungeons, regardless of my rank, and I have ranked everywhere from C to S+ in those, so I am "guessing" that 5 is the standard drop for each Ace Dungeon, on top of the 12 from the daily Vanguard challenges, for a total of 17 Intercede each time. When you fight monsters on the Island of Dawn, you will only get Intercede tokens from the daily Vanguard challenges, but not the monsters themselves. Although, the monsters will sometimes drop other things like semi-enigmatic scrolls and other goodies. Personally, I will sometimes do a lot of the monsters on the Island of Dawn, just because they tend to give good drop rates for Fashion Coupons. If you want to work on getting some really cool-looking clothes for your character to wear, then the Island of Dawn monsters probably give the best drop rates for Fashion Coupons. When you get the full Slaughter gear, and have it enchanted up, you may still struggle with the mid-tier monsters, so you might want to stick with the low-tier monsters for Undercede tokens, until you get some of the Guile equipment (at least the Guile weapon), and maybe some of the Demense jewelry. Of course, you can figure this out by just trying the different tiers, and see whether you get through them, or if you die a lot.

My personal preference for spending tokens on better gear is weapon > armor > jewelry > glyphs, then I might buy some "General Goods" with them, once I have bought everything else. Depending on your play style, you may want to move glyphs up in the priority of buying, instead of the order I use.

It takes 1,200 Intercede tokens to buy the full Guile armor and weapon (weapon - 200, chest armor - 280, hands - 240, feet - 200, belt - 280). If you can get rank 1 in Celestial Arena, then you can get 27 Intercede for each run (15 from Vanguard rewards and 12 from the dungeon). You can get 17 Intercede from each run of an Ace Dungeon (12 from Vanguard rewards and 5 from the dungeon). If you can handle the mid-tier monsters on Island of Dawn, then you can get 20 Intercede from Vanguard rewards for each Vanguard challenge (kill 10 monsters). If you can't handle the mid-tier monsters, then the low-tier monsters will give you 20 Undercede from Vanguard rewards, which you can trade for Intercede at a ratio of 6:1. If you want to continue doing Echo Arcana, it gives you 20 Undercede each time, to trade up for Intercede. For time-saving purposes, I will do two runs of Celestial Arena, two runs of Baracos' Trial, then use a reset scroll to do them again. With a maximum of eight daily Vanguard rewards, that gives me a total of 176 Intercede tokens per day, for one character, and it only takes me about an hour per character. If you have time to do 8 Vanguard challenges per day, then you can easily get the full Guile armor and weapon in a week, with just one character, then work toward the jewelry and glyphs. If you don't have time for 8 runs a day, or if you need to farm the Undercede to trade up for Intercede, then just add a little time to one week estimate, but it still won't take you very long to get the Guile gear. If you have the time, then the mid-tier monsters will give you a little more Intercede tokens than the Ace Dungeons, but the Celestial Arena is the highest payout for Intercede, if you can get rank 1. Mix and match whatever things work best for you. If you do low tier Island of Dawn monsters and/or Echo Arcana to farm for Undercede tokens to trade for Intercede, then also be mindful of the feedstock rewards for the daily Vanguard challenges. Celestial Arena, Ace Dungeons, and mid tier monsters (Intercede tokens) all give you tier 10 feedstock with the daily Vanguard challenge rewards. Low tier monsters and Echo Arcana (Undercede tokens) only give you tier 9 feedstock as Vanguard rewards. You can combine tier 9 feedstock to get tier 10 feedstock, the way you do Undercede to Intercede, but Undercede level challenges will take you longer to build up tier 10 feedstock, which you will need for enchanting your Guile gear, once you get it. However, the tier 9 feedstock WILL be useful for enchanting your Slaughter gear when you get it, so you may want that to be your focus until you can get your Slaughter gear and get it enchanted to whatever level you want it. It doesn't take long to get the Guile gear, so you "may" only want to enchant Slaughter up to level 9, instead of dealing with the expense and frustration of Masterworking the Slaughter gear, knowing you will be getting Guile pretty soon. If anything, maybe just enchant the Slaughter weapon up to 12, but just take the armor up to 9. That is entirely up to you, but I normally have the Slaughter gear for such a short time, I found out the hard way that Masterworking the Slaughter armor and taking it to level 12 is an unnecessary expense for all of the feedstock and alkahest, with all of the enchanting "fails" that I would get after level 9. I do enchant the weapon to 12, just to make it easier on me, while I am still farming tokens to get the Guile gear. Once you get the Guile gear, then I do recommend Masterworking it all to level 12, because you will probably be grinding in that gear for quite some time, before you can get any of the Ambush gear.

Today and tomorrow, Tera still has the double Vanguard reward special going on, so take advantage of that if you can, to get some extra feedstock and tokens from the Vanguard rewards.

Personally, if I have extra time (especially on weekends, when I am not working), I will do a mix of Celestial Arena, Ace Dungeons, and Island of Dawn monsters. On weekdays, after work, if I play Tera, then I will usually do Celestial Arena twice, then Baracos' Trial twice, then use an instance reset scroll and do them again, to hit my daily max of 8 Vanguard reward challenges. If I don't have that much time, then I might just do Celestial Arena twice and Baracos' Trial once, because you get daily Vanguard bonuses for doing 3 daily challenges and for doing 8 daily challenges (gemstones that you can trade to any Merchant for gold). If I don't have time to do 8 runs, then I will settle for 3. It takes me 20-30 minutes of fighting the top level monsters on Island of Dawn (Supercede tokens), just to complete one Vanguard challenge of killing 10 of them, but I can run Celestial Arena and Baracos' Trial twice each (4 total runs) in about 30 minutes, so I will usually focus on the Arena and Ace Dungeons, for time reasons. I can kill the top level monsters a lot faster when I use extra potions and Noctenium Infusion, but I hate wasting those things on daily Vanguard challenges. I normally only take an Everful Nostrum for the daily Vanguard challenges, but I will use other potions and Noctenium Infusion if I am in a hurry. If you have an Elite account, then take full advantage of your Everful Nostrum. If you do not have an Elite account, then buy Prime Battle Solutions from any Merchant or Specialty Store. Both potions are the same exact thing, but you pay 3 gold for each Prime Battle Solution; whereas, the Everful Nostrum is an added benefit for Elite accounts.

Those are just some of my recommendations for optimizing your daily farming for tokens, to get gear, jewelry, and glyphs. After doing each a few times, you will quickly figure out the best routine for you to balance your time, potions, etc. vs. the tier and amount of tokens rewarded for your efforts.

If you plan on making more characters, then I personally would continue farming tokens, and dropping them in your shared bank, even after you have gotten all of the gear from them, so when your new character hits the minimum level to use that gear, they can just pull tokens from the bank and gear up right away, and it will give them gear appropriate for their class. I did that for my second, third, and fourth characters, and I use each of them to farm tokens when I have time, so I have them all fully geared from the tokens, and I still have over 4,000 Intercede and 1,000 Undercede in my bank, for future characters (plus some Supercede, XLIV, L, LV, LVIII, and LX/LXIII tokens, to help future characters at different levels of progression). My first character was a berserker, and I think I was around level 30 before I realized Tera sells level 60 scrolls, so I jumped from 30 to 60 with one. For my second berserker and my sorceress, I just used level 60 scrolls right away. When a new class comes out, Tera does not allow the level 60 scrolls to work on that new class for the first few weeks, so my gunner is the only character I took from level 1 to level 65 for every level. When the Ninja and Valkyrie classes come out, it will be the same thing, so I have "stocked up" on every level of token I can, to be ready to help them out. If you plan on trying out Ninja and Valkyrie when they come out, then don't forget to stock up on some extra tokens for them, ahead of time. Just some things to consider, if you plan on making more characters, later. I "wish" I could try to shoot for the special title of being the first one to level 65 (I forget what it is called), but new classes usually come out on Tuesday, and I work Monday through Friday, so it is impossible for me to shoot for that. When Ninja comes out, I will be on another out of state business trip, so I won't be able to try out the Ninja class until at least that following weekend. I started with berserkers, because I figured they would fit my personal play style, and I had fun with them. I tried the sorceress and gunner, because I just thought it would be fun to try out different classes, and I wanted something with range attacks, because it got frustrating having to be so close to monsters to hit them, that they can just smack me right back. The sorceress has definitely become my favorite, because she is just the most fun to play, for me. However, with everything I have read in these forums, I may try a brawler someday, because it also seems to fit my play style, which is basically rush at the monster, we hit each other back and forth until one of us falls down, but I cross my fingers and hope I am not the one who falls down. LOL :)
