EME gave the wrong rules in the Server Merge FAQ. If you haven't logged on to a name for 30 days you automatically lose it to someone who has logged in within 30 days.

No doubt they wanted to punish those of us that haven't logged in since Xingcode was added. It's really bs to, because since Xing hasn't stopped anything, people are still using multiple accounts at the same time and were afking on names they wanted to steal from others. I lost mostly all of my names. Good thing to, because it made my decision of ever coming back to this game pretty easy.

This is what I mean though. They tell us one thing, and do another. They are doing this all on purpose, so I don't know why anyone would bother anymore.

At least the names go to active players and not people that don't play. A win win situation.

30 days is a bit harsh. Imagine if you've played the game for years and decided to take a month off. You were given news about the merge (but not this lovely piece of hidden information) and thought you had enough playtime that you didn't have to worry. Then you come back and find your name gone because of this. I don't really like the idea of that.

You should know by now that the last thing EME cares about are the players. They let a handful of people that demand stuff in the forums control the game, and if you aren't one of those people, they couldn't care less about you.

All they will say is, "Get over it, and if you don't like it, leave the game."

No its because gameforge leaked the server merge information, so they broke the embargo on how server mergers were done.

Something was going on, because the mains on all accounts are gone. No doubt people using the 30 day rule to try to cash in on main names with high play time.

Go back to suckling. Your precious is down to 2 servers all while you touted how great Xing is. Apparently, not many believed you.

Yes, you are paranoid. Prove that I said good things about Xing. The only thing I did is to prove that some Paranoid folks were spreading [filtered] and lies.

I think people are getting confused with the Gameforge server merge FAQ that has the 30 day rule. The EME FAQ says it's strictly on playtime. Unless they used the same system? I guess we'll soon find out lol.

Definitely not on just playtime. I had a name on both CH and TR with one of the chars at 65. I lost it to someone that was 13 on AV. I haven't logged in that char in over 30 days.

THIS IS A CLARIFICATION TO THE NAME RULES ON THE SERVER MERGE THAT EME DIDN'T FULLY GET RIGHT.

The rules that are applied for character renaming are applied in this order:

    1) Has the account been logged in during the 30 days preceding the merge?

If no, the characters are renamed with a random numerical string, completely ignoring the playtime.

If yes, then 2) characters with the same name duke it out for the name, based on play time. Longest play time wins, shorter play times get renamed with a random numerical string appended to the end.

You sound really bitter Christin. There is very little point in sowing discord here. If you don't care about tera or are quitting, then why waste your time on these forums?

Swtor is down to two NA servers and they been doing fine for almost two years now.

I doubt they can make any correction at this point but it looks like it was done the way you say it there.

I recall they did this last merge. Before they gave any news about the merge I went around telling people that this would likely happened and that they should at least log on the month of the merge.

Assumed they just rid of the idea for this merge since I didn't see it once they expanded on it.

  • eu had it like this https://i.imgur.com/9yGgPOM.png
meanwhile na had it like this
    http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/faq-for-the-tera-pc-server-merge
If two characters share the same name on merging servers, the character with the most play time will keep the contested name. If your character has less play time than another character with the same name, you will receive a tag indicating that your name must be changed (for example: “Best.Lancer.Na_1”). You will be prompted to choose a new name before logging into the server with that character.

crazy how na copies and pastes stuff from eu still to this day
  • Clearly Gameforge broke the embargo on the secret name rules, calm down everyone EME did nothing wrong
