I can not understand how they create dungeons and in a new patch they simply destroy everything, eliminating the game dungeons to add others! Lineage II has an incredible expansion of dungeons and regions, but never removed a single location from the map. It's very stupid, and I only see it in TERA. Q. As they said above, about GM's, it's ridiculous to never see them online in the game, it's ridiculous not to have any GM events. It seems that they have abandoned the game, this Meme. I do not know who they're helping with, but they're showing everyone that they do not care and that the game is over. Pack your bags and pass the game on to a company that really wants to keep the game on top. Or change the neglected form and come to respect more the players and creators of the game. :/

Lineage II has removed a lot of things over the years. I should know I have played that game off and on since the beta. The old class change quests have been greatly simplified. Old quests that had you killing things like the Ol Mahums west of Gludio are now gone. They have new quests of course that greatly stream line the leveling experience up to 85. That said, once you got about 70 there were quests that gave you lots of elemental stones too, that you could save and use on your main and his/her gear. Not anymore though. Those quests are gone.

Lineage II never had instanced dungeons in the classical sense, so nothing was lost there. That said, many areas that used to be for lowbies has been reworked into high level zones. Now everyone starts in Talking Island. Used to be only Humans started there. The Dark Elven Village is also gone. Destroyed as part of a story plot that was always very hard to follow, poorly told, and badly written.

Finally, party size used to be 9 people. Now it is 7 people. I am sure there have been other changes over the years as well. I have a very hard time being bothered these days to go and find them all however as NC Soft is on par with EA for one of the crappiest game companies out there.
  • So dirt and neglect is general! R.I.P.

  • The question here is not about Lineage II, but about TERA. I just wanted to exemplify, and beyond the time I left Lineage! What Lineage is today, I have no idea. What I do not understand is that they destroy everything in this game, even the fun on their own.

Want to laugh? In my very first days of tera as a newbie i saw NPCs fighting monsters in this low level area and i thought that they are players doing some sort of open world quest and i went to help them.. But that happened some five years ago?

Alliance when there was no assault aura along with the Vanarch system and we needed to vote? 40man Nexus? 20v20 GvGs when you would teleport to Kaiator and instantly die? It was all fun and games.

If i remember one thing for sure that made me to have fun was actually the blast from the past system where i could do low level dungeons at 65 and still get decent rewards while breaking out from the usual runs.

I have a long list. Lets do this
    - When Lancer skill was based on how you performed, instead of how much damage you could do.

Most of the stuff you mentioned is just natural cycle stuff which is just dumb, but this part is definitely taking the cake for the most dumb thing. Lancer is harder now than it ever was, by an extreme long shot. I used to play lancer in MCHM patch up until SCHM. Lancer play used to be based almost entirely around shouting often, using glyph setups specifically to keep up aggro, and when it became applicable, that your DPS popped eclipse potions. Now I can't tank for [filtered], because playing lancer at a decent level is based on being able to output as much damage as possible while still being able to block everything, positioning the boss in non-annoying ways, and doing things like cheesing mechanics with divine protection, or reinhardt shield. Lancer's are much harder and higher skill cap now than they ever were.
  • Old Island of Dawn is one of the main things I miss. Want to get a friend into TERA? Old IOD was a gorgeous place that really showcased how good this game could look. The atmosphere was overall just pleasant. New tutorial is dull and dreary, where I'd have to tell them to just tough it out and that "it gets good later." I appreciate that the leveling has been streamlined, but the tutorial area is just garbage. I can't even party up with new players there, since most of it is "instanced."7

maybe if we can get the same people that pushed for and got the server merges to come on here and push for the original island of dawn to come back, then maybe we can get it.
  • Remember CHRONOSCROLLS!

    Miss Nexus - a lot.

And Ive been away from the game for almost two years, or more. What happened to EME? How did it happen? Is there ANYONE from the team 3 - 4 years ago still there? (You know, those people that occasionally would send personalized Christmas cards?)

The community team changed, and they're the ones who organized the Christmas cards. (Though I think they might still send a few.) The producer (now called product manager) also changed. But a lot of the other staff are still around, and some are working on TERA PC now.

As for what happened in general, they went from a company with an entire office that only published TERA PC, to a company that publishes multiple games (including now on console) with basically the same-sized team. So this lack of focus (and budget) reduced their capabilities. Certainly, community team in particular is where we saw the greatest impact (used to have 3 people just on TERA PC, now just one).

(You could say that we used to be an only child so they spoiled us and gave us their undivided attention. Then they had a bunch more kids and attention is very divided.)
  • I remember the tutorial before you would start IOD
I remember when you'd swear it would pop up as ####
I remember going on bot hunting parties and trying to kill them with mobs
I remember using alliance summoning wands to kill new players/lowbies :^)
I remember when this game had a lot more players than it does now.
I remember when avatar weapons weren't a thing

Remember when you needed a full party just to clear BAM quests in certain areas in order to get exp to level up?

Remember when the level cap being 60 was difficult to reach?

Remember when soloing any content was nearly impossible and only doable with hp regen and mana regen crystals?

Remember when level zones were filled with people looking to party up and level up and explore the world of TERA?

Remember when Island of Dawn had a specific guild recruitment event day where guilds can try and recruit new players to join?

Remember the old Island of Dawn?

What happened to this game? Where did the fun go? Why am I playing costume simulator now?
Do you have anything you miss?

1: Cant find group so I was end up try to solo BAM and found it fun... then watch video to learn BAM att pattern... it become easy mode...
2: 60 was never difficult to reach. Story quest+BAM = easy to 60s
3: At first it is cause my first 60s was Archer, when leveling zerker feel the world is changing to... easy mode?
    4: It fun to read.
5: didnt pay attention to it.
6: I remember when leveling alt first thing is run to bank at the old IOD.
7: I remember Nexus lag feast killing my old laptop with duo 2 cpu... 0 fps FTW
8: Looking at the friends list that mostly grey is not fun...

About new patch delete some old dungeon, what I remember is if keep too many dungeons, it going slow down Tera a lot cause the RNG system, this why they delete some old dungeons each new patch.
  • they could at least bring back original island of dawn.
