Aha, so I somewhat correct after all! Thanks for sharing this info with me. I thought I was going crazy for a moment there. It's quite the shame they stopped bothering with slot increases over time. I get why Reaper needed several due to the 24-hour cool-down, but I find it odd that they then stuck to one and then came back for more three during Brawler's release and then just stopped. And you're right, the old news updates from EME are gone.
I don't see people on WoW, GW2 and SWTOR complaining about their ridiculous number of characters they possess. I had no idea this topic was so "controversial" around here, lol.
we need to increase the cap when enmasse will merge pve and pvp server in 2020
It's one of the things I always say, that people here think you either play as they want, or you play it wrong.
It's my own business if I want to make an army of 256 Elins full of costumes. It's my own business if I want to play just one character and gear it to best possible and all costumes on that one. It's my own business if I want to level 256 characters to 65 and never play again.
And it's definitely not an issue for them to allow me to buy 254 slots to make my Elin army either. Talking about server storage is making up excuses, as a character's parameters are just plain text, you don't store a single image even, you just store text data about inventory items, appearance setup, equipped stuff and so on. It can't take more than 5 megabytes if programmed as terribly as BHS did, and only a very small minority would make a ridiculously big quantity as well to make this an issue. Bringing up name sellers is utterly stupid as well, as any name seller can just make tons of accounts with their trash alts instead for free, and I bet my Elin's furry tail that this is what they do instead of spending their gold/money on slots.
Saying that you can make more accounts and deal with it is exactly as stupid frankly, cause then you waste all the bank connection (BUT YOU CAN TRADE... yeah I know still requires you to dual client just for some items that can't be sent on parcel like lots of gold), and besides if I recall it this is against ToS anyway, even if they don't enforce it unless ban evasion.
I can totally respect and understand if people don't understand why you would want it, or they wouldn't want it or care about it. That makes sense, as everyone plays differently. But just can't with people being against it for saying "you don't play them all" like they rule over how you should play.
Like, they SELL the slots, and limit how much you can use.
And that matters why?
Do you have first-hand knowledge of their playing habits? If not, I don't think you should be speaking for them.
Why do you and that "aren't even sc" person care anyway? How they choose to play and enjoy the game has no bearing on how you choose to play and enjoy the game.
