In my honest opinion, your friend couldn't be more right. Even after a year or so I've found tera just as fun now as I did when I started, and I enjoy so much learning each class and doing content with it!

If you are from Europe your best choice is the European branch of TERA. (Website Link: https://en.tera.gameforge.com/news/index Steam Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/212740/TERA/?cc=uk)

These are the NA forums however. So I'd encourage you to go through here (Website Link: http://tera.enmasse.com/ Steam Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/323370/TERA/)

Yes, tera has more than one store page for the various localisations and publishers

Don't forget to check around the forums of the localisation you choose to get a BuddyUp code, which will give you a very nice set of rewards as you level up. (DM me in forums if you want me to give you mine ^^) Right now, in preparation for an awakening patch (the rest of the classes are getting extra skills and passives) there is a level up event on both branches, so now is a pretty good time to check in ^^

When you're in the game, if you want, there's a website called Essential Mana that has many useful guides that will help ya get started on TERA. I might be posting a levelling/ gearing guide soon too if I can be bothered finishing it off lol!

You are in luck because you live in EU. Gameforge EU Tera is a much better choice. NA Tera shuts down on Oct 16th anyway.

Also don't use steam version. A lot of people i know have performance issue (stuttering/low fps) when using steam version. Switching to normal client avoid this issues.

Not true, but I suppose people would think that if they looked at the forums

If you'e from EU, just go to EU (Gameforge) version.
EME does not support (nor they want to support) foreign players on NA Tera.
  • Just go to EU TERA, do not waste your time here like all of us do.
  • No, not here lot of NA players are extremely pissed off right now because of EME's decision, CM, and censorship of their feedback. Just look at pages 2 and 3 of this forum.
  • Yea, go play eu. More talents and better publisher
  • hopefully i can save a few people the time and effort, but do NOT play tera eu

gameforge are the scummiest and most cunty game publisher you could ever imagine, there is a reason 95% of us ex tera eu player quit

if you really want to play tera, play an asian version or the russian one or even a private server if you can find one

i would STRONGLY suggest finding a different mmo tho, tera is a long lost cause
  • Since item xp was introduced i dont recommend you, cause you are force to waste 1000x more time just for have a chance to progress.
Then they nerfed materials . Making gearing even more hard 100.000 %worse

I agree with you on item exp. I have like 10m gold and [filtered] tons of enchanting mats and I don't have time to play non stop to get item exp to for my alt. It was frustrating as hell.
