Unable to login to any toon

I can load the game and get to the area to choose your toon. After that, when I select one and click login, nothing happens and then trying to switch to a different toon or press anything else doesnt work. This has been going on for the better part of a week including disconnects as well as insane lag spikes in dungies.

I did a bit of packet capturing and found this. Might have something to do with it.

From the looks of it, it shows that the servers arent available even though the status page says they are up.
I have uninstalled from Steam and reinstalled using the standalone launcher
I have verified file integrity and tried a repair
I have verified that my home router is NOT blocking server ip's and AV is disabled for testing.
I also have disabled my local firewall on my machine to test.

Nothing is working.

  • Likely your connection has lots of packet loss or jitter to the actual game servers. The <!server not up> thing you're looking at there actually means "if i can't connect, say This server isn't up yet!"

I'd suggest trying to use a VPN to connect to tera. (mudfish and wtfast have free trials, i think)
It's pretty uncommon to get stuck after selecting a character, it usually means your connection to the server was dropped between loading char select and actually selecting the character. Based on the other symptoms you listed, it is almost certainly a low quality connection to tera's servers that you're experiencing.

    Yeah no, try again.
Don't you think that if I had a "low quality connection" that I might not be able to stay connected to a vpn?

Just as a heads up, I use a work vpn as well as the OSCP vpn for their labs and I've never had issues. I've tested this on 3 separate internet connections, 2 of which are on the same ISP.

But more importantly, if you are recommending that I connect to a VPN to play a video game on my home pc in the United States where I can connect to basically every single other game I play not including Tera, then there might be a bigger issue here. Sounds like pure excuses and "workarounds". It's best just to rip the bandaid off and cauterize the wound here and say what needs to be said: This game is broken and EME including the (((community manager))) have ruined this game.

Watching EME and its (((community manager))) run around like cats trying to bury its feces in concrete. It's quite hilarious.
