Most bosses you can pre-build stacks and most parties are fine with it. I don't do it much because: sometimes when I do have 10 stacks from previous fight and we have enough time to start next boss (assuming everyone's cooldowns are good), then we can't start because 1 person always goes afk
There are some instances where you may not be able to build a lot of stacks because a certain boss doesn't hit as much and have to accept that lol such ssnm 1st boss. He will not hit much so you may not have htl at all that whole fight lol. But the hard mode he hits more so you have more chances to get htl. I know it sux and I hate it too but it is what it is. Also Shandra Manaya in ds doesn't hit so much either, so imagine the challenge there to keep up dps with the party but hey that's fun.
I agree on the crit issue but I know for sure the talents would fix that. Being in front of the boss cripples the crit chance so it is what it is. Lancers rely on rng too much.
