Is it worth to move from AV to TR?

Hello everyone.

I just came back to TERA 2 days ago & I've done my fair share of dungeons to get geared (Had Disco/Ambit RIP). Anyways, How populated is TR compared to AV? I kinda wanna move since AV holds bittersweet memories from the past but dropping $30 for a server move, man.

Is the move from AV to TR worth it?

I really don't have many friends in AV anymore so maybe finding a group of friends might make me stay, dunno. Maybe I'm judging too soon? Since I came back 2 days ago.

why not go make a new char play for an hour/less and see how you like it. NO one can tell how you're going to like some thing.

From what I understand, TR is a very competitive pve server. I'm on it because I've been moved from server to server to server as those things changed along the years (I was originally from the defunct Blightwood server). TR seems very active at the moment. The lfg system in this server demands skilled, geared up players as well. But I'm sure there's a few less hard core focused guilds still around. But usually, people move to TR for the best pve without getting ganked by another player (MT is apparently the best pvp and pve server of all in terms of skilled players according to people who have done research, with TR being close second.)

Not sure how TR is "very competitive" compared to other servers. Regardless, I transferred from HW to TR just couple weeks back and I haven't had any trouble with anyone yet. Heck, I was accepted into a DFHM LFG while having 403 ilevel on Mystic and DFNM wasn't even Skilled yet.

What keeps you from doing that on AV?

CH is more social than TR due to it being a roleplay server, hardly anyone roleplays in the open chat but the chat is DEFINETLY more social and active than TR chat where they are less talkative and focus on pve, where as CH still focuses on PvE so you should go to CH imo.

Not everyone on TR is focused on pve nor is it less talkative because of the label. The server label has nothing to do with how social people are. I've lost count of how many people I run into that don't know how to even stop talking from MT and TR. Anyways, if you want a decent pve group you would have to be somewhat social otherwise it is a bit more difficult. If he wants to meet people strictly to socialize and play with then he should probably just go with TR. Depending on timezeone and group size he's after I would be able to introduce him to some groups as a starting point.

I moved from HW to CH because I was missing out on the social aspect and I like it a LOT better. It's pretty casual there too, but the queues aren't too long. I love it.

Queues are the same on every server, so that didn't help you at all. However more active players making LFGs and overall standing outside dungeons is a nice change. Finding a pleasant guild wasn't any harder than on HW though.

AV is the superior server best prices

Aaaand you're wrong there. CH is the only server I didn't check for prices, so I can only safely say TR has best prices among every other server.

Ah I didn't realize that. For some reason it seemed like the queues on HW were longer. Weird. In any case I did find a lot of the time that global and area chat were dead, and I couldn't really find a guild that was talkative enough for me to want to stick with, but I'm a very social gamer, so CH has just worked out better for me.

AV barely gets half an LFG page during peak times. Even then, endgame stuff like SSHM, SSNM and DFHM barely anyone runs. Among guilds that are open to recruitment there are either those with close inner circle you have no hopes of getting in so you'll just be "that eh guy that nobody really knows or wants to run with" or that huge guild full of strangers that who knows how and why they're still there. And ofc if you actually find a guild where people are really open to you, well, gameplay wise they suck. Personal experience of 10 months of trying to find an actual guild.

I started from 0 on TR, leaving around 120k of items and gold to counting mounts and weapon skins on AV.
2nd best decision in my life on Tera (after deciding to main slayer, long long ago).
Even during European peak hours I can do everything i want, or form a guild raid for it, and fill up with lfg.
As I played during European times on both TR and AV i encountered much less toxic players or even toxic annoyance in global.

Social aspect on TR is good I guess because of amount of people. Global chat in TR is a mix of Reddit and 4chan/b/ so I don't give many hopes for that part. I believe a good start, since you are here posting, is to check the guild recruitment and introduction sections. Introduce yourself as someone looking to play end game and make friends in TR and someone will most likely respond.

As for server descriptions, this guide is getting older but may still be somewhat relevant.

  • tr's average pve is better than mt's average pve btw.
