@Catalism, thanks for sharing your rocking brawler! It was a good opportunity to practice drawing butts wings!

OK so - I will be out of town for the weekend, so I am unsure if I will get the time to make one more human female chibi. It depends when I depart honestly. But just incase...
.. next week will be a male race. ;)

Also, thanks for the wonderful comments guys! It is what keeps me wanting to draw.

Ahhh thank you so much! I love the dynamic pose +_+
  • When will it be male Elfs? :s
  • TriggTrigg ✭✭
Right, so it turns out I will be leaving in 30 minutes instead of during the evening as I first thought. This means I won't be drawing anymore female humans for this project.

I figured I'd post this though, they were thumbnail idea doodles for the remaining characters.

Stay tuned for next race/gender, will reveal on Sunday/Monday. B)

@Stricera, estimated time for male high elf chibis is early July at the earliest - it depends on rl plans entirely as I am scheduled to be away on vacation most of July. If it clashes, then early August. Feel free to keep a lookout for it though, the thread title will state which race/gender week it currently is.

New week, new chibis! I have chosen to open for new submissions today (Sunday) instead of Monday, due to me being gone again next weekend as well. (rl stuff, leaving Friday again)

Please share fullbody+close up on face screenshots of your CASTANIC MALES between 19th - 23rd of June! More details and rules in original thread post.
    :3
Remember that less clothes helps me with the body for the first drawing, later on armours and stuff are totally fine.

    almost 4 AM now fff

@app1ejuice, thanks for posting your castanic! I am not too sure if it is common for chibis to have muscles and stuff. But this one has it now. B) Cause I dunno.
    Hither ~

I don't normally draw guys, beginning to notice that now heh... but hey, it's why I made this thread! Also, the reason I chose castanic male as second race/gender is because their heights is similliar to human female.

Keep those screenshots coming guys! :3

Thanks!!! Mhm, you'll get a lot of improvement quite quickly :)

If you want any suggestions... I think the body proportions are really nice already. The issue is masculinity. Some things that could help (used to photography XD) would be to widen and broaden the shoulders, the neck. Another thing is to close the hands into fists -- open hands convey feminism.

ALTHOUGH tbh it's probably the hair ribbon. Definitely the hair ribbon

Suggestions are always welcome, constructive critism can make all the difference. It's good that others can help when one does not always spot what is off with a picture while drawing - it's like working on it without a break will make you blind for the mistakes. (I often have an issue getting the eyes alligned, which I am trying to improve whenever I spot it) So thanks for providing such feedback. :>

Based on your reply, I tried to adjust the drawing accordingly. But I try to avoid getting the castanic too buffed, as I have yet to start with the male human, aman and baraka.

We can't ditch the hair ribbon, man. That's the very crown of it all. B)

My own lancer has a pink quilted backpack, so if there are no new references by tomorrow maybe I will just draw him or something.

Mhm, that's what I hoped it would come off as~~~ I think it looks better! :) just some tips my section leader gave me back when I was doing yearbook in high school. All the guys I was photographing looked feminine af, and my lead was like, ".... ok do this..." XD

Also one more thing, I don't know if this helps -- facial proportions are hard af. I'm not sure how to explain it, but maybe this picture can?
    hqdefault.jpg

Now once you start drawing aman and baraka, I prolly won't have any more tips to give -- never photographed any barakas at my school

I think I know what you mean. I believe the positioning of the eyes is always in the middle of the head, and the separation between the eyes is about the same width as another eye. Ears are approx size from nose to top of eye (I kinda felt it would reach eyebrows more though) So, I guess the issue with the head might be that both eyes are the same width even tho the head is slightly tilted to the side and not straight front?

I am hoping barakas are similliar to Baymax, it would make life easier. XD

I was thinking more of like, just features. Your proportions are pretty good I think! They capture the "lithe" feeling of a castanic (light, strong, not bulky but lean).

By features, I mean like, thicker eyebrows, stronger jawline. It would definitely help to try to draw the Aman or human males -- very masculine characters. So far though, good work!
  • TriggTrigg ✭✭
I'll see what I can do about the brows and jaws. :) Still don't want to stray too far from a chibi though.
*Also, I will edit the link frontpage to the redrawn version, I just noticed the current scan cut through my signature XD*

I have had a bit of a headache all day today, so I think I will wait until tomorrow to finish the next drawing instead of tonight. Sorry for the wait.

In the meantime, I am concidering to have next week themed for either aman female or popori. If you guys have a preference between the two I could start with that. :3Don't put aman or popori reference during this week though, only castanic. :>
