Couple that with the fact that NA, despite being in-line with KTERA, nonetheless receives updates weeks after the tera versions that're just doing their own thing separate of ktera. And when NA does finally get the content that EU received ages ago and is enjoying without many issues, we apparently receive them in a nonsensically broken way: implementing it will require multiple extensions, and when it's finally live it's full of game breaking bugs that should've been fixed since we literally receive content *last* and should get to at LEAST have the benefit of not feeling like beta testers, but nope, can't even have that. A prime example was the content patch that just dropped, obviously. We got it, what, a week+ after EU did? And ours was so busted that it required a 10+ hour extension before going live, and then ruined the economy and had to be rolled back. I could understand this if we were the first ones to get it, but we weren't. Not by a long shot. It makes zero sense to me.
tl;dr ktera synch would be fine if we saw the benefits of it but we don't so it sucks.
Honestly, it does kind of make sense, though. All the issues we had in this patch all, ultimately, stem from regional changes in the distant past. Things like the Elite Consumable Boxes that include scrolls (no other region has), or like the fact our SES dismantled for 28 Entropics (no other region did). These decisions were made years ago and 1) all of the BHS dev team changed, and 2) all of the EME production team changed. So nobody knows/remembers anymore what the regional differences introduced years ago were, why they were there, and what were all the underlying reasons for those decisions at the time. It's the crippling weight of poorly-managed legacy and the new teams that end up discovering it one way or another when it hits them in the face. Of course there are players who have been there from the start and might remember some of these things (and the underlying reasons), but you have to first know what question to ask.
I'm not saying that's an excuse for anything that happened -- this is their problem to solve -- but I really think it's the situation we are in. They don't know what they don't know, and as a result end up walking into traps neither EME nor BHS realized existed due to decisions made by different teams years ago.
(Someone might ask: why doesn't GF have this problem? I suspect the main reason is less staff turnover. Some of the people there likely still remember the decisions made years ago and why they made them, so are able to better-anticipate problems that may occur. Some of the other newer regions (like RU and SEA) have less legacy to begin with. I suspect this underlying problem is why EME is trying to align the game more with K-TERA, so they stop running into these problems they didn't know existed.)
Almost like they did it on purpose, because they knew we all rolled for the enraged.
