I want to help Tera into a new year and beyond.

We are all playing tera we love the game in out own way. One of the best MMORPGs out there. It has its ups and downs. Blue Hole and now Nexon have there moments of "AW! Thats soo COOL!" As well as our moments and i know you have them time and again, where you just don't understand why the hell the game is running like it is. Add all the great content you like. However its is getting to a point where I and others im sure, the developers NEED to reinforce some core game functions. Here is a small list of things Blue Hole, Nexon , Enmasse and Gameforge need too look at.

1:CONTENT PATH
Adding new content SHOULD NOT mean removing current or old content. The story line has 0 purpose now. NONE WHATSOEVER!

2: FIX INSTANCE MATCHING
It is time to make under the hood adjustments to your Unreal 3 Engine. (This includes: Matchmaking for BGs and Instances.)

2A: With a matching system that crosses all servers there should be no reason that a instance can not me made in a reasonable about of time some sort of work NEEDS to be done to the system the looks at and evaluates classes and players. (Open up the instance system to allow people of the same class perhaps in a party to que up)

Perhaps its time to break open this 3 class holy trinity. You have to many classes in DPS rolls find away to distinguish them in the search system. IE: Lancer Brawler = Tank, Mystic, Priest= healer, Sorc, Archer, Gunner= Support DPS, Reaper, Ninja, Zerker, warrior = DPS or better yet allow for multi purpose classes to pick rolls in the party. IE: Warrior, Brawler, and Zerker can opt for DPS or TANK. You could then grant a buff to the class to improve the roll they picked. And Grant party leader the option to change the rolls the other members picked based on vote.

3: BATTLEGROUNDS
CS never pops unless premade, in the current launch version of Secrets and Shadows you created a rewarding way for people to play BGs (CS, Fraywind) but its nearly unplayable.

3A: Gridiron needs a equalized mode to be relevant. All this half Equalized teams break the system and anyone above that item level nearly one shots. (some sort of balancing needs to be done. CS like other instances DOES NOT POP unless premade with 3+ players that or you have to wait for 15-20-45 min to get into ONE MATCH and that one match mayy end up being in progress or ends up with your team consisting of players that afk and leak inners. (yes i know thats a play base problem) What I mean is a improvement to matchmaking times overall.

4: PREFORMANCE
This point four may be the most important to some of you. REBUILD YOUR UI GET A OFFICIAL UNREAL TECH IN THERE and scrap this Scaleform UI or whatever is made with. The performance hit this game causes are unparalleled. Someone with a $3,000 PC should not be getting 5-100 fps WHAT IS THAT EVEN!
Improve over all smoothness and performance there should be no reason a community should just BE OKAY with this.

There has got to be another game out there using this same engine that has come up with a proper solution to hyper-threads and overclocks and SLI or anything some sort of adaptation to 4th gen I5s and up. Im not here to get into individual details that I bring up. These are just major points to cover.



If you agree make a stink. Its middle of 2016. We have dealt with these inconsistency's too long.

  • Maybe you should try to come across so ungrateful... but I get your point and I will agree with most of the things you have said. I really wish that with new content they would not remove old content. I personally want old dungeons back so many fun and awesome dungeons get replaced because...?

    To put this is in a picture you have a tower and you keep added stories on top but at the same time you also are removing some stories at the bottom. Played Janga anyone?

    Im not ungrateful I buy a ton of EMP to help both myself and the dev team but even so you would like to think the money could be put to some use aside from just costumes and hit or miss patches.
    Its time this game gets some core issues fixed to stack up against the new big titles. Look at the market many mmos are joining the list with more on the way.....if they want this game to continue stone certain things need to be addressed that are blatantly ignored by the dev team. Anyone with eyes and see this game isnt coded and build at the base level very proper. Even if it is this old.

    Tera China is to be shutting down soon. The china game company running it was probably [filtered] but add to the fact its missing many things not only that KR tera was suffering.

    1. I have no idea if it's the same in games, but in the industrial sector you remove things due to capacity. Old content is prone to bugs, abuses and also needs maintenance (manpower) as well as quality, etc.

    2A. Nope. The holy trinity is the strong suit of Tera. We still don't have a talent system like WoW where you can press one button and the healing priest is now a shadow priest, firing lazors. This will only end up in BnS-like gameplay: 5 DPS enter the dungeon and just do brainless damage to everything. No finesse, no tactics, forget backcrit, nothing.

    3. Battlegrounds are permanently under construction. We started off with a Kumasylum, then they introduced this PvE speedkilling thing, then they worked on a tank only battleground and now they bring out a Kumasylum with kumas only. I dont know when you queue, but CS takes ~1-5 min for me as healer. And I'm playing EU times, not even NA prime times.

    4. I have no idea about the unreal engine, but someone explained me that this works like the base of a house. You cant just pull it out and put in a new engine like in a car. You would have to completely make a new game.

    CN-Tera: *cough* "lack of endgame content". Perhaps everyone should play BnS and see what it means to have absolutely NO endgame content for years. Where max level characters need to farm dungeons 20 levels below. Whatever. Hangame quit and Nexon took over. From the numbers I have in mind, CN is a minor market. The analyst seems bad to me as the first thing I would mention is that Tera is a P2swag game. The chinese community rather prefers P2W games. This is a big difference in game politics which would make the difference between the western and the eastern market.

    Just a personal side not: I'd also like to see Tera with a new engine. To see other BGs so rewarding that more people play. But there might be other interests at stake. As we can see, they're putting manpower into the new class - again. Oh well.

    1.) Keeping old content requires resources and it further divides the player base. You never want to have too many options.

    2). Your long que times for dungeons is due to the wait of a healer and a tank, while leveling it is mostly a healer due to being able to go as 4 tanks or 4 dps. Classes can already fill multiple roles. Zerk and Warrior and que as either a dps or a tank and in premade groups Brawlers can either tank or dps.

    4) This is something they're aware.
