This is clearly scamming.

EDIT - Removed image with player callout
1 day elite is around 10k, 30 day elite is around 60k.
this nub is trying to sell a 1day elite for 60k.
clearly not by accident.
buyers beware of this kind of thing.

  • If anyone buys this because the price is the right amount for a 30 day, then this is one them. They should clearly be reading what it says, that it's 1 day and not 30. When I bought one last month I noticed right away that there were a slew of 1 day elite vouchers on sale and made sure I narrowed it down to the 30 day ones.
  • If you want to be safe from this, search for "elite 30".

Oh wow, that's really disgusting to try and trick players like that, people are such assholes, thanks for the heads up.

Tho i feel like if you're about to spend 60k+ on ANY item, make sure 100% its the item you wanted.

Well you know you can have a 1 day elite active for like a week tho :P Elite status wont wear off if you don't logout or server restart so most people use the 1-day for a week:proud:

While I do agree it's their fault for not paying attention the intention of the seller is clear, to scam. And that's pretty low and vile. Every time I see someone locking themselves in negotiation with 1g mwa or selling elite 1 day for price of 30 I welcome them to my black list and /report them (not like the later will do much >.>). Hate to be playing the same game has them.

Think I've been kicked before at about the same time elite was to expire. Not sure if it was just a coincidence..

honestly, this isnt a scam according to me. The seller is not purposely fooling the buyer, as long as the buyer pays attention. There are a lot of items on the broker listed for 10x more than they are worth.
It would have been a scam if he would have traded (in person) a 1 day telling the buyer it is a 30day voucher, but thats not the case.

There name there price list on broker... really not a scam
Or 1 and 30 look the same?
    1 30 1 30 1 30 1 30 1 30

Scamming is someone being stupid enough to buy a clearly labelled but overpriced item now?
  • Of course that sell an overpriced item similar to a other item more expensive is a scam. More than that, it's a very well known kind of scam in MMOs. Take care!!

Its not scam. Any player is allowed to put up an item for sale for whatever price they want, if it wasnt allowed i would get banned for my slippers of seduction that i have put up for 9.99m gold.

Its only a scam if they try to convince you that its a 30 day elite voucher to sell it for the price of a 30 day voucher. Which they cant do if its up on the auction house
  • I thought that the 1 day elite given out during the events at lv 20 wasn't even tradable. I've seen these on the broker myself and the text says that it's not tradable. If someone is dumb enough to buy it, wouldn't that make the item unusable to the buyer?

Nah they are tradeable regardless of the tooltip.
Regardless, it's up to you as a player to look at what you're buying. It's not a scam, it's preying on laziness and stupidity. Not saying it's you @op but 90% the people screaming scam are the people that fell for it.

he is most definitely trying to fool buyers. why else would he put the price of 30 day elite ?> c'mon don't defend him. this is intent to scam and something should be done by eme staff.

As foul as it seems, this is not a scam. A dodgey tactic? Yes. That the seller deserves no love? Yes. But not a scam. A scam involves fooling the buyer into believing he's buying something worth what he's paying. This isn't the case here because you can see from a mile away that it reads (1 day). Let the items rot there, because reporting won't do anything since it's a simple case of someone selling something that's clearly labeled, for a price of his choice.

The infinite negotiation practice is a slightly different thing because the guy is exploiting the system to fool someone into selling for lower. Because people in a hurry only see the lowest price and not the average price, and don't bother to check the buy tab itself to make sure.

I hate to say it, but I agree with most everyone in this thread. It's not scamming to list something for more than YOU think it should be sold for. I list items at higher prices than other people, but that doesn't make me a scammer, it means the item is worth more to me than it is to them. While this is probably NOT the case here, it's not really scamming unless they do something like, advertise they're selling 30 days elite and when someone goes to trade them they swap in the 1day.

It really is up to the buyer to make sure they're getting what they paid for. It's important to take that extra second to make sure everything is in order before you click that "buy now" button.
