The Absolute State of PVP in 2019

This goes to a lesser extent in 2018, but in 2019, it is completely irredeemable. I'll be highlighting a few things which cause and have made this games PVP an utter disaster ever since Awakening became a thing.

Part 1: THE BUGS

Oh boy, where do I get started? The bugs in this game NEVER, and I mean NEVER, EVER get fixed. Bug abusers are nearly never banned (I'm not talking about abuse related to proxy, aka Memeslash). I'm not even talking about things like Brawler Bullrush bug or instant retal, which have been in the game since it came out (and still hasn't been patched). I'm talking about things like the infinite e-smash bug for zerker, slows affecting iframe movement distance (slayer root makes it so your iframe doesn't move you at all, versus how it used to for the past 6 years prior), attack speed affecting lock on's such as priest and mystic sleep, sorc silence, and every other buff in the game (zerker fear and doom goes off faster, etc). The current NA devs wouldn't know the difference between the game mechanics if it walked up and smacked them in the face. At least in EU they seem to have a modicum of knowledge on PvP, but even when EME claims they send in bug reports to KTERA devs (which is the only way bugs will ever be "fixed"), they never do get fixed, because apparently nobody either speaks Korean or KTERA devs just don't give a [filtered]. I included bugs as part 1 because base game aside, if the bugs can't even be fixed, how the [filtered] will anything else get fixed?

Part 2: THE POWER CREEP

So, you're a returning player. You probably posted on the reddit asking if this game was worth coming back to (as is the only ever present post on the TERA subreddit)... but guess what? You're at a severe disadvantage now. Don't have EP leveled up? No 20 extra power for you. Don't have level 66? No 20 extra power for you. Don't have log in buff? No 6 extra power for you. Don't have the newest innerwear? No 14 extra power for you. Don't have the best jewelry etchings? No 10 extra power for you. Don't have amplified jewelry? No 15 extra power for you. Aren't aware crits are useless in pvp now so you still go hybrid? Well... sucks for you. The more grind-y aspects added into this game created a bridge between returning and veteran players, about a... 100 power bridge, give or take, or more. This isn't even *gear* related technically besides Jewelry.

Part 3: THE GEAR TREADMILL AND THE AWFUL ENCHANT BONUSES

Because gear was split into PVE and PVP, you'd think that was a good idea, right? Wrong. Even though it was always an annoyance getting to +15, it was a better idea having gear 'reset' every so often to allow players to come back without needing to spend their entire life grinding to get back into place. If you want PVP gear now, you **have** to start out with CS and spam it until you basically get a jackpot, because shorehold rewards plates for +6 onwards, and you'll get kicked anyways if you don't already have full +6. Then it's RNG from there on out which is arguably worse and on par with the original +15 from Tensus and Renegade. If you want to upgrade jewelry, well, you're [filtered] if you don't pve, because BGs used to not give gear xp, at least I think they do now. Ignoring the awful amount of time it takes to gear up in pvp, the enchants are dreadful. +6 Harmonic slow turns you into an actual snail, and is basically a 7 second root. This ruins the game effectively. I'll only highlight that one, even though the other ones are bad. RNG effects on gear shouldn't exist in a game like TERA, but the Talent system says otherwise.

Part 4: THE LACK OF INCENTIVES

So, due to "abuse" by certain players, it ruined it for the [filtered] poor amount of everyone left who PVP'd. Solo 3s used to be a decent way of making some money or at least getting enchant matts, especially on jackpot days, but ever since they removed that due to team 3 farmers (even though the bgs are LITERALLY seperate), it gives you nothing. Zero. Nada. Which, ironically, made it more abused since the top rank gives a Leadership Mask with stats, which players used Team 3s on the last day before reset and never get banned for it. You can't even sell or list PVP gear on the broker, so once you're fully geared, there's even less of an incentive to keep queueing bgs unless it's for fun -- and trust me, Shorehold isn't fun. It was a huge mistake removing FWC. It was an even bigger mistake removing team queue from BGs, as it just invited in sync queuing to abuse the fact TERA has never had any rank based matchmaking (outside of Team 3s popping vs lower or higher rated teams).

I could keep going on with different parts, but I've barely even scratched the surface and highlighted the glaringly bad issues with this game that will never be fixed, even outside of the awful class balance. This is why the game is nearly dead, and will never recover. NA TERA devs have no control over this game or patching out issues.
