Controller RT

After this new patch i can't map my RT button on my controller!! even the glitch to make it work does NOT work anymore.

  • Same problem here, before this patch, i could see the main 3 in the controler window but, not anymore. Maybe that is the reason for the glitch doesn't work !
    Now we really have a dead button ! :(
  • I am having the same issue using an XBox 360 controller. It doesn't matter if you select type 1 or type 2 controller. Up until the v81 update we were able to use the workaround of setting the F1 slot of the second skillbar template to that skill and it would use it. It is now a completely useless button, and it's a vital one for people who play controller.

I found a workaround, not sure if it will be as effective as I think it will be but, If you place the skill that use to be on the added tray and than hover the mouse curser over it, hit RT it will trigger that skill. It's a pain in the butt when you have to use other things like Potions, nostrums, etc. It's the only thing I found that allows us to still use the RT to trigger the skill.

  • Just to update, I did put a ticket in 4 (almost 5) days ago, and got a reply that it would be escalated to a specialist for further assistance. It's been 2 days since that response, but it was the weekend, so hopefully some other sort of response is given soon.

    As for this, I did try it, and while it does technically work, if the mouse moves off the button even the tiniest bit, it won't work. It's sad to me that we even have to push to scramble to find these bizarre and obscure workarounds, that end up not even being viable.

    Got an answerish from support, and while they didn't really answer my issue, but she gave me a somewhat workaround, and basically we have to sacrifice a keybind and rebind it. Assign the skill you want to use on to your main template, like, say, Backstab on to F9. So if you go in to your controller options, (back button on XBox controller) you'll see all the controller bindings. Then, while in your controller settings, scroll down to Upper 9, (or whatever button you put your skill on) click on the preset option to clear it, then use your RT, hit enter, then make sure to Apply/OK at the bottom to save it. This should fix the issue, and you can remap any skills and buttons like that. This is really only viable if you have an extra slot open on your main page template, since it won't recognize anything on the 2 or 3 skillbar template any more.

    I hope this helps, but it is frustrating still that they don't pay a lot of attention to controller users when they do updates like this.
