Broker fee? Wat?

I bought elite sub to place items on broker and avoid the fee. I came to find out that even with elite, I still have to pay a broker fee, what? Why? What was the reason behind this? Now I kinda regret purchasing elite sub.

2% fee, says so on the website
    http://tera.enmasse.com/store/elite-status

probably intended to curb inflation, but it's not enough to counteract the fishing bots

Indeed, the reason for the change comes from Korea, to combat the bots.
It was a decision that wasnt welcomed at all here in NA, but EME still went with it.

Just go fishing. The extra money you'll make from fishing will outweigh the extra broker fees. Elite is worth it if you play the game, but not really if you're just using alt accounts to list stuff.

They said it was for inflation, but I highly doubt that was the reason. The 5% discount on the BIN fees counteract any inflation benefit anyways, so them saying to counteract inflation doesn't make much sense. It has curbed a lot of the constant undercutting though, which is important for high value items. At least now,if you want to stop someone else from selling something, you'll have to pay a bit each time you undercut them. It also helps with supply and demand as people are most likely to offer items at a fair price if they have to pay each time they list something.

People thinking the fishing bots actually make people rich, yikesss.

Looking at most of your replies, I'd say you're simply reflecting.

Of course, it really depends on how many bots one has running and for how long they have them running per day. No, they aren't going to be rich, but hundreds of them on one server running 24/7 does make quite the impact. However, no, I don't think inflation is really the reason they added the fees as I already stated.

Guess it depends on your definition of "rich" but someone making 100k gold per day per bot and running multiple bots is bringing in decent money imho

People thinking the fishing bots actually make people rich just shows how small of an IQ most of the player base is starting to have, yikesss.

If you're making 100k per day using the fishing proxy more power to you because none of them do that lawl. Maybe 30k, on one character if you get lucky but you certainly aren't going to be making 100k per character per bot and if you think you are, then you really need to learn how Proxy's work.

Not sure what "luck" has to do with it unless you're talking about not getting banned. If they catch 2 fish per minute with a maxed out rod, and fish 24/7, that's 100k gold per day from selling fish to merchants (not even the fishmonger, just vendor price) and exchanging the angler tokens for gold.
  • I have not returned to Tera for several months due to the dps scripters, and fishing botters. It is a shame really, because Tera was a fun game to play back in 2013-2015 era.

I sure hope EME gets this under control because they are losing the respect of honest players and the steam charts are reflecting this.

    No one cares?
  • This is what tera community have been reduced to..

"We didnt make 100k per bot lololol, we only make 30K PER BOT!! Plz learn how2internetz."

Oh noes, our bad then. I guess.. ITS OK to bot now. Its ONLY 30k gold, amiRITEEE??!!!

    Bwahahahaha

It only gets really irritating when the botters start spamming chat to buy up everything. Can they be anymore obvious?
  • 66ECX7NAN766ECX7NAN7 ✭✭✭✭
You can buy a fish crate I design for ten angler tokens, and sell it for ten gold, so if you get 12 angler tokens when you catch a fish that's another 12 gold. And people who know what they're doing can run bots without actually having the game client open.
