Sabex Armory
Macallerius Catacombs
Has both uncommon and rare Glyphs
Tyrantblood tokens
Island of dawn tokens (all three kinds)
no you can not.
The glyph boxes from Tyrantblood and IoD glyph boxes are new glyphs released 3 patches after we got sabex and catacombs. The only glyphs we get from SA and MC are the original lvl 60 glyphs and the glyphs we got at lvl 65. Mainly stuff for your new skills. But with the addition to rare glyphs we also got 7 new uncommon glyphs per class + some rare ones. Some got less, some got more. Point still stands
Every class got 12 new additional uncommon/rare glyphs with the Brawler patch, they are currently only attainable through randomised boxes bought via Tyrantblood / Undershade / Shadecore / Shadetop tokens or purchased individually for 300 Shadetop tokens. All 'shade' tokens are farmable from Island of Dawn BAM dailies and Tyrantblood tokens drop in some dungeons.
Though the best bang for the buck(at least for rare glyphs not dropped in dungeons) is through buying rare glyph boxes using undershade and shadecore tokens. They are rng, but saves you the pain of having to kill 70 tier 3 bams per glyph just for the right to chose.
So the process I do is, first do SA and MC a few times. Then go to the Vanguard shop, get a ticket and get whatever from there that you need and you couldn't get from the dungeons. Lastly, farm IoD and get the rare stuff first from RNG and last option the shadetop stuff if you really need that last rare glyph that rng fails to give you.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe the Vanguard glyph shop has the newer uncommon glyphs that were added with Brawler. Only the glyphs you would otherwise get from SA/MCat.
I was referring here to the shadetop token glyph shop. Not the vanguard one.
The Shadetop individual glyphs are only the 12 new ones for each class that were added at the Brawler patch. There are 144 glyphs in the Shadetop glyph store- 12 glyphs x 12 classes.
Well if that's that then I'll have to take back my statement.
Lara is right, in the Shadetop shop there's only 144 glyphs which are the ones that were introduced after the patch that brought rare glyphs to the game.
As for your method of obtaining your glyphs you can just skip buying them with Vanguard Credits unless you've run SAr and MCat 10 times and you don't have a core glyph, however, some of the good ones you get from those dungeons (or vg credits) also have a rare version to them, like crit chance/factor glyphs (and some increased skill damage/reduced cooldown), as for obtaining rare or uncommon glyphs from IoD tokens try 15-20 boxes (anything higher and you might be just wasting tokens), if you're still missing 1 or 2 core glyphs just outright buy them, RNG (at least in my case) seems to be hellbent on not giving me crit chance/factor glyphs (or increased skill damage by %) and when I do get one of those it's usually a useless one (and this is the norm for all 11 of my chars)...
- lvl58-lvl60 glyphs common (MC, SA, Vanguard)
- lvl59-lvl60 glyphs rare (Vanguard)
- lvl65 glyphs (IoD tokens)
