Best high ping classes for PvE
I am moving to Japan from California and my ping is about to skyrocket. What's some good classes in PvE with 200-300ms ping.

So I guess you could say that sufficient practice will overcome the ping barrier a little.

Personal Pref:
Overall: Warrior > Brawler > Ninja
DPS: Warrior/Ninja > Slayer > Sorc > Gunner/Archer/Zerker >> Reaper
Tank: Brawler >> Lancer
Healer: Priest >> Mystic
Qualifications:-
1. I have every class at 65
2. I did not invest the same amount of time into each class. This was based on leveling from 1-65.
3. I did, however, play each class for a while to gear it (low tier) before shelving it.
4. Top roll is Atk Spd. I feel it brings about a substantial quality of life change.
5. I mained warrior since F2P so might be why it's right up there.
When you have a normal attack speed, ping doesn't matter, as a warrior i notice my high ping only when my cd's are really low and i press keys very fast, then there's some kind of desync sometimes and it's like for example BD doesn't chain properly and it does the animation rly slow, but i've got used to it and i know how to play with it.
I used battleping and mi ping does get better, from around 220 to 170-180, but tbh i see no difference.
I play with 200ms+ average all the time, and I play several classes. IMHO, the best classes for HIGH ping in PVE are Gunner, Reaper, Archer, in that particular order. In PVP, Gunner, Reaper, and probably the Healer classes. I play Mystic in PVP nowadays, and besides being fun, Its really ping friendly.
Also, with High Ping, The CDR and Att Speed build does not fit in properly, so you might wanna do a crit/power combo build.
I know that Lancer, Warrior are very ping dependent.
Regardless of the class you choose you will have to adapt to the new ping and change your playstyle. There is no other way around it. Yeah, Battleping and other services might lower the ping and it will help. JTera is another option, but I understand, all your friends are in NA Tera, and you wanna play with them.
Thus here's my list :
Ninja (no chain skill, can glitch auto attack easily) = Brawler (no chain skill) = Gunner (no chain skill, and you can macro burstfire) > Healers (no chain skill) > Slayer (huge time frame to chain skill) = reaper (same as slayer, except you must take our fast cast shadow burst) >>> the rest.
Slayer(long frames for chain skills, long iframes)
Brawler(faceroll)
Ninja(faceroll, long iframes)
Both healers do not require good ping in PvE. But you need to manage your iframes more carefully. Lock-on heals are a bit harder to use too.
These classes are also considerable, but avoid using certain skills that heavily affected by ping. Their DPS lose significantly in high ping too.
Archer(Rapid fire, Arrow volley, Charging is slower)
Gunner(Burst fire)
Reaper(Shadow burst, less rotations during Shadow reaping)
Berzerker(Charging is slower)
Sorcerer(Yosha can cast 15 spells in one BoC duration, you can only cast 12 at most)
Warrior, keep in mind that using noc will cause horrible desync problem.
Never touch this class
Lancer(You will always fail every spring attack chains, wallop chains and onslaught chains under 200+ping and 150+ attack speed, Block cancel is inconsistent and will not help you much)
My main was Gunner for ~1 year and now i play only Slayer for Pve, my dps is better now and it's much more fun.
Gunner is "OK" but not that great for high ping, u need macro on burst fire and even then there's a big windup animation and u can't do some high skill combos (see chicken.salad guide).
On the previous patch, as a gunner my dps on +15 lucid was almost the same as a good dread +12 gunner w/ 40 ms, now my sf+15 slayer got the same dps as any skilled slayer on same gear and i got no problem to match sf+15 gunner dps.
Brawler is fine too for high ping, idk about Ninjas.
Btw, my ping is ~200 ms.
I also had a fair amount of time on my Berserker but that was another story. Cleared MCHM close to 100 times just fine, but it was very, very challenging. Personally I would just go for whatever feels swift and fun (the game is really fun when it's fast in my opinion). All the best to the class of your choice!
1) Brawler: not much issue with high ping since RHK can super cancel the animation lock of GP and HM.
2) Ninja: u do decent dps even with high ping (possibly due to the inherent op-ness of the class). But to actually min-max dps, close to impossible. BH desync too often, combo attack and main skills cast slower than a low ping ninja.
3) Reaper: not much issue except for the well-known problem of not being able to trigger 2nd shadow burst. Chaining to sundering strike will sometimes desync even when pressing the key immediately after a chain skill e.g. grim strike
4) Slayer: same problem with sundering strike but for MS. Else no other issue
5) Mystic: only issue is the slightly slower lockon for heal and cleanse;
Lancer requires a lot of patience to really adjust to the timing, but with practice, it becomes quite good to play, even with a high ping, tho I am quite average at lancer pvp.
With a high ping, the main thing, is pick a class and stick with it for a while, adjust to the slightly different timings, and try to compensate a bit. In PvP its a little harder with an archer, because you sort of need to be aware to aim slightly off to hit a moving player/target, but knowing your rotations and adjusting them to suit a higher ping is really the best advice I can give you.
TL;DR: Pick a class that you like. Play that. You'll adjust to the delayed timing.
lol you're playing at 300ms and talking like it's not a big deal? Makes me wonder if you even know how to play the game properly.
If you think you're "average" at lancer PvP with 300ms you're either playing with the worst PvPers out there, or your desync is so good that people can't hit you.
Either that, or your 300ms is not the same as my 300ms.
Dunno if that makes sense.
