[Answered] Black screen instead of loading pictures.

Hello,

Recently I've noticed that my loading screens are black (lol I'm so stupid I thought that this is normal). But then I saw a nickname, I assume, and server title under black screen :o . Hmmmm..... Anyone knows how can I fix this? I really loved the pictures. :(

    Did you modify your S1Engine.ini? Turning DepthOfField to false disables loading screens as well. Otherwise, use repair function in Tera Launcher (it's in Tools)

    Yeah. Depth of field in the ini also has the secondary job of showing you loading screens for some odd reason. I swear, I'll never understand the mysteries of computing fully. Those things take on a life of their own, just to annoy humans, I tell ya.

    We just discussed it yesterday and here's the first player (of those hundreds that dont open threads about it) who killed his Tera installation. Good luck Tera itself still works.

    Just do a repair like xander said.

    I assure you that their Tera installation is just fine. To fix the issue, all that needs to be done is re-enabling Depth of Field.

    And are you so kind to travel to all these specific customers to fix their Tera installation? No, you wont. Customer support has to fix it. I guess it was you who i talked yesterday with. The player identifies his game right now as "broken". If not, he would not have come to the forums to seek help. The rest of the customers will contact support directly.

    So please. if you must discuss modding Tera files, do it outside the official forums.

    Honestly consider yourself lucky. I might try that depth of field setting myself. One of those loading screens actually burns my retinas. It's like staring at a neon sign.

    Some particular loading screens really hurt my eyes hard. I am jealous you have a black screen instead.

    This. Not to disparage any artists, because WOO! Art! But the integration is kind of awful. The brightness of loading screens, in general, is somewhere around Super Nova, and a few of those that use neon-like colors are absolutely overbearing.
