How To Deal With Warrior?

Backstab nearly, always 1-combo-kills me. Its difficult to time. Usually i try to use an iframe but good warriors dont fall for that. They wait for you to burn the iframe then backstab.

How do i counter a warrior as a ninja?

  • The 20% stun reduction is basically useless cause the stun usually last up to about 30% or 20% health then they warcry or whatever for the left over health. Is there really no other counter besides dodging the bs perfectly?
  • Don't duel them because they are the best dueling class and nothing more than a gear check. It has always been like that.
  • Play lancer at level 65 it can counter anything in duel .... oh wait no, they nerfed it.

And this is why the class so desperately needs to be nerfed. At the very least backstab needs to be aimed.
  • I think Warriors need a buff honestly (This is coming from a ninja who loves PvPing)! Warriors only shine in duels and are sub-par or weak everywhere else! As much as I hate to say it, winning duels does not mean much since there are too many imbalances in 1v1. This is true especially for Ninja since they are pretty much guaranteed a win if they land a stagger > stun combo (exception on healers where you need multiple combos).

In skyring, there's many circumstances that can stop a warrior's burst/lockdown if the opposing team has proper awareness. As for ninja, being able to land one of those stagger>stun combos are almost guaranteed a 100-0 to other squishes and if it doesn't, they have the combo up again in just a few seconds.

I think warriors can be particularly good in FWC since they can easily distract healers from doing their job but brawlers and lancers can do this job 10 times better (especially in a duo pair).

    Off-Topic:

Speaking of brawlers, I'm so happy that vacuum is being removed im PvP because it's basically a Ninja bladestorm you can do every 3rd hit. It's VERY easy to peel for other players in skyring by just knowing where to be and you just need to left click. And then CC lock with any other skill you have :) where your teammate can follow up the kill :(

And I can't really agree to the reaper buff since their kit with AOE staggers, an AOE KD, an AOE stun, where most of their skills do a significant amount of damage. This is from a PvP perspective though so correct me if I'm wrong. T_T
  • Thanks guys for point of view.

Do think that warriors require a pvp nerf. Also think that no class should be able to instantly stun you for aiming a skill and clicking a button. Any sort of cc should be an effort. Should take some level of experience.

Wouldnt reeally be as annoying if their damage wasnt ridiculous. i know their pvee sucks so im speaking of their pvp damage and if not that then reduce the stun duration.
  • Only nerf they'd need (if any) would be for duels. Otherwise, they need a buff.

    Warriors weak in skyring...?
  • Don't use all your evasive skills at once. Use one and know when the warr will get frustrated of waiting for the next.
Most warriors aren't that sophisticated plus if they wait so long they won't be alive cause without the stun they can't do much
Basically learn how a warrior plays and counter it.

    i laughed.
    1) they generally will wait till they get 3-4 edge so they can get a 10 edge scythe off backstab. (bs 2, charge bd/vortex bd 2-3, combative 1, rob ...not when they get "frustrated"
    2) they actually can do plenty without backstab.

*Warriors need a lot of changes primarily stagger immunity on skills like blade draw, scythe and rain of blows.*

*You are right a warrior in solo queue will get away with his 100-0 combo every once and a while but overall most teams know to peel the warrior nonstop and stagger him out before the cascade comes.*

I think warriors can be particularly good in FWC since they can easily distract healers from doing their job but brawlers and lancers can do this job 10 times better (especially in a duo pair).

Warriors are really meh in large scale pvp as a whole because they are susceptible to staggers destroying their combos and its hard to peel with ground pound and gigas.

Only way to fix warrior is to provide stagger immunity on their important skills so they can hit people outside of backstab. Having said that I think warrior's current playstyle (while frowned on for being "too easy") is a necessary evil, if you position yourself poorly and you are all alone on the edges of FWC then whos fault is it that you died? You or the warrior.

block + rob + kaias. There is your stagger immunity, they *do not* need more.

Block doesnt provide stagger immunity for starters and rob provides KD immunity not stagger immunity and yeah my 2nd hardest hitting skill (blade draw) we can just forget about that.

block is essentially stagger immunity and much more. and are you actually TRYING to troll me? if something gives kd immunity it gives stagger immunity too, feel free to test it. it's called a super armor and RoB is one.

Here I even dug this [filtered] up from patch notes for you
    http://tera.enmasse.com/news-page/patch-notes/patch-3308
    Rain of Blows
Warrior is now immune to stagger and knockdown while casting Rain of Blows.

blade draw executes extremely fast that's why you don't need a super armor on that. Do you know why certain skills have super armors? because they are MELEE skills that take a LONG time to cast.

    learn. your. class.
  • As a ninja, you can easily stagger through block by angling the skill (dc/cos).
  • KetiKeti ✭✭
Ninja gets countered by warrior just like reaper does.

But in general just bait the backstabbing and then roll them. Also get very aggressive after they combo you .

Warriors are far from weak in Skyring. What needs nerfing is backstab duration and then maybe give them a minor buff to various other skills to compensate. Either way the re vamp should interesting.

As for Brawlers. The Vaccuum requires an attack speed glyph proc to be of any significant use (unless you're etched in your own gear i.e. fwc).
With the nerfs in mind, on a personal note from myself I hope BHS are happy. They've bowed to the masses and decimated a really wonderful class. Granted I will have to adjust my play style (then again I hardly bother with spin2win in group pvp so meh). But RIP to a wonderful class, great in idea totally ruined by the playerbase.
