I have no comment about meters because my views do not agree with many of my peers, but when people use it as the only relevant thing problems are created, like sshm when people completely ignore mobs to get higher dps.
I hate this kind of thing too. You do an IMS and get some guy posting DPS logs in the party chat, and right then and there the quality of the group just DIPS. I had a DF run a few weeks ago where some guy pulled that garbage after the first fight, where one of the players had kindly offered to keep the sorc busy so that the others could DPS without being knocked around constantly. As soon as those numbers were posted at the end of the fight, though, all bets were off and suddenly people started playing like garbage. Second boss came around and you had people getting hit by the floor mechanic because they were so eager to get back to the crab that they didn't count the number of phases that'd passed yet, and took a hit while running back to the boss. Third boss we almost wiped because when the tank died to an invisible laser, nobody wanted to run around to the front to attack while he got ressed. I'm really going off topic here, but I hate the effect DPS meters tend to have on teamwork in general. If you're one of those people who uses it just to check out your own progress, then whatever, good for you. But I can't stand the people who have to be like "OH WHOOPS DROPPED THE LOGS IN RAID CHAT OH HAHA HOW'D THAT HAPPEN OH WHAT'S THAT I'M NUMBER ONE OH WHAT A COINCIDENCE HAHA"

Even in stuff as basic as FI this [filtered] happens. Nobody attacks a tombstone because they want to pump out that SICK DPS BRAH, and meanwhile the ghost is mauling the [filtered] out of the healer.

Yes, but then everybody would need to have a yacht. And you can't have everybody be part of the elite because then there would be no elite.

Spending too much energy on these people, just smile as they walk away and focus on others that give you a reason to call them friends.

Unfortunately DPS meter has nothing to do with this, every time the tank has died I've been the only one to DPS at front. Obviously no one posted DPS meter. Most people just don't realize how important it is to go to the front- even when playing healer I have to DPS for a second before ressing.

There has been one DF run where it was being posted while I had to DPS the whole fight at front and without heals on my Slayer. Sure, it felt like I had to explain why I had bad DPS, but it was as simple as "Welp, I was DPSing at front without Wrathful~" and it's not like I heard complaints.

EDIT: I had to add though, if there's someone who should always go to the front, it's the guy with the DPS Meter. They obviously know the dungeon so they have absolutely no excuse not going front.

FYI you don't actually have to dps from the front, you just have to stand right in front of Verno. Whether or not you attack him makes no difference- you could have the tank completely afk in front and Verno wouldn't bat an eye, as long as they survive the entire fight.

I agree on everything except one and this is the one
Here's not to the people who quite right after they get the best gear.

I have my reasons because I don't, and will never get the best gear ever since I hate crafting and gathering stuffs required for it and also, I don't keep my stuff in check to so I always sell it to broker...

Again, I have my reasons to not get the best gear possible... this is not a game with super-seriousness... I play a game for fun and relaxing. If I wanted to continue it will be my choice and my choice only. That is all

I just checked a dictionary to see if i was making some mistake.

    adjective
    1.
(of a person or class of persons) considered superior by others or by themselves, as in intellect, talent, power, wealth, or position in society:
elitist country clubbers who have theirs and don't care about anybody else.
    2.
catering to or associated with an elitist class, its ideologies, or its institutions:
Even at such a small, private college, Latin and Greek are under attack as too elitist.
    noun
    3.
a person having, thought to have, or professing superior intellect or talent, power, wealth, or membership in the upper echelons of society:
He lost a congressional race in Texas by being smeared as an Eastern elitist.
    4.
a person who believes in the superiority of an elitist class.

I use the term accordingly, and actually i's not my fault if there are more elitists than "elite" players. I shared this just because i'm not a native speaker, so you compelled me to check if i was making another silly mistake of mine. :)
