Can someone explain me why archer will be mid~top tier after update?
Why 15% crit chance against monsters is bringing archers that much to the top? Is it a potential archer always had? Or people are running archers right now, and seeing that the class is good? Or is this new passive really more than it appears to me? I don't know, i don't think 15% is thaaaat much of a buff, but i'm no expert in the game... I'm quite noob actually, so, i'm asking you guys!

This is one of those cases where a DPS meter is actually really helpful to put things into perspective. Usually in most dungeons I run an overall 50-60% crit (if the mobs are lvl 68 which most of them are.) That's with about ~360 crit rate. So now imagine that being 65-75% crit after the buff. That's a pretty big difference and why it's a good time to be an Archer.
But...no one was complaining, and the OP was just asking for information/opinions on how effective 15% crit can be (which is actually quite awesome). Although I agree that a lot of the people complaining about old classes are playing the class wrong.
The main problem is that the buff is mainly focused around Rapid fire which most player can't use, it was supposed to be RoA/Radiant tier, but above 50 ping, it won't be that good (and trash above 100)
I was mistaken then. To me, the difference between new and old classes was the solid damage on skills. But i did notice that my idoneal ninja was criting way more than my dread Slayer... Maybe these crit numbers should go a little up, like this buff on archer
As for the buff. How I understand it is like this. Before, when there were only the vanilla classes, the game was a bit less crit dependent. Yes. Crits have always been around and people have always tried to make the most out of their crit chance. But most dungeons and bosses didn't have huge HP pools that required strict crit builds. Come the new classes and because devs wanted casuals to see big numbers (I guess) they get higher crit chance. Either on base CF or in skills, or in the form of crit chance glyphs. Now bosses get these huge HP pools and tight DPS checks (break shield phases and such) which force people into CF builds. Thing is, many vanilla classes were not properly updated to climb the CF train so we were seeing these classes doing less crits than the new stuff.
Personally I believe a game shouldnt depend so much on crit chance. A crit attack should be a bonus, rare occurrence. But seems more and more games want to please some players with the constant big numbers.
As always, my opinion. Saying it how I see it.
