The list is so long and i mean L O N G that the chances of getting anything nice are kinda ... not there.
That will work for a time, but it will backfire eventually on that note.
It's nice to have events, but at the same time I would rather not have one at all then expecting a great event, and getting a watered down event like the current kyras.
Catalyst weren't wiped before the event started, people can still use the catalyst that they saved up from last event. I don't know how you think En Masse is punishing everyone.
That might be the main reason why this event doesn't have blue boxes. I'm surprised En Masse didn't remove them during last Kyra event.
You should look up the word punish before you dilute it any further. No one is getting penalized or treated unfairly for hoarding catalyst, players can still use catalyst to earn the rewards for this event. En Masse didn't intend for players to hoard catalyst, so they let everyone in advance that all catalyst will be removed once event is over.
You still can hoard catalysts by buying them with emp, but somehow noone is bothered by this part...strange.
It is precisely that stockpile of catalysts that they're targetting.
But if you mean that people can still get a whole lot of catalysts just by buying them right at the start of the event, then sure -- that is one of the downsides to this entire event. But the amount of people who are able to buy that many catalysts is small compared to the rate people were able to hoard them via blue boxes last time. There are way more people who could spend a few days "barely playing the game" to collect 2000 catalysts via blue boxes than could drop 79600 EMP (~$660 USD) to do the same.
Though i agree with you on the blue boxes, last time they were totaly op, wich i mentioned in my previous post, but they could have just lowered the ammount of catalysts to 1-3 and make them spawn maybe in one channel only.
It would be a good alternative to the tedious dungeon spam, since Spacecats mentioned how they want to make the event fun and rewarding.
This is the first Kyra announcement: http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/introducing-kyra-s-pop-up-potion-shack
At the bottom it says: Any catalysts left unused after August 25 will be usable the next time Kyra’s Potion Shack pops up, but Kyra may not return for some time—and the prizes she offers will almost certainly be different!
They specifically told players that there will be more Kyra, rewards will change and catalysts can be saved up. I don't think they can say that in the official post and then claim they didn't intend for it to happen.
Oh, and, if they didn't intend for hoarding to happen, they could've wiped out all catalysts at the end of each event. You know, they way they plan on doing it now.
Well, at least they didn't just cleared the counters to zero on everyone.
Just hope the next time the event it's more doable (that is, getting more than one or two potion rolls per day) by those who don't spend money on the game.
That's buying in bulk, completely different from hoarding.
That was for August 25 in 2015. If you have any questions for the current Kyra event, you can check FAQ:

We aren't being punished for their mistake. They were probably just trying something new. The boxes are unlikely to return, especially as they were, due to not being balanced. It's also unlikely, and actually unfair, if the rewards change; it would upset people who have already used catalysts and cause distrust. Although, if you or anyone else has any other resolutions you wish to see, feel free to discuss them.
ok i get some things but i still dont understand what is the difference if those "hoarders" opened catas previous event or now? if they got for example 300 blessed scrolls in February or got them now what is the difference? he got them
and one more thing...did someone from eme officially said that is the point of this event? i think not this is just assumption by players, and to be honest i dont think anyone saved them, simply what was left over like i had 2 left over from previous event i couldnt spend ofc cause i needed 5
