Which class to play next?

Not sure if playing archer, sorcerer or slayer would be good for the next patch? o:

  • Archers unfortunately are a little bit underpowered atm They are getting some buffs so hopefully things are better. Slayer is not bad as they are also getting some buffs along with sorc. Really depends on your kind of play style since slayer is all about the melee burst crits while sorc is all about the ranged ones. Since sorcs will also be getting new animations in the future try it out! :)

How about sticking with what you have instead of hopping on a bandwaggon?

I am sticking with what I like, I main zerker, I'm just not sure which class I want to alt.

There's nothing wrong with hopping on a bandwagon, it's how people find out if they like a class or not..you know, they try it? That being said, i've been maining a sorc for a long time and can't wait for these changes, they are LONG overdue. But archer and slayer are a lot of fun also. Just try them all out to see which one suits you best.
  • Play with the sorcerer. IT'S TOO OP! :):'(:):'(:'(:'(:'(

Doing bandwagons is not how they should find if they like a class really. What held him from making archer till now? I've made my archer looooong ago cuz i made every single class to see playstyle. Not cuz of opness, suggestions. I tried it myself and liked it. Everyone hears buffs and omg am making a *blank*. What this does is just make an influx of so so *fill class here* players just cuz of buffs. Today I witnessed an auto-atking archer. What difference will buffs make if they are only there for buffs but don't know proper rotations etc. That's why I suggest ppl make the class they enjoy the playstyle so they get good at it. Not cuz of how op it is. Has already happened with mystics, which i had from the first wonderholm, and now there are some that dont trow mote/use corruption ring/ and they use aura of unyilding in lev 65 pve dungeons, but buffs right?

In summary, make the class you enjoy, not cuz of op ones. If it so ahppens the class you enjoy is in the curent op cycle, then so be it.

If I could give you 60 more likes and a full internets with cookies, I'd do it.

Now, It's ok to try out classes, and I know people can have as many characters as they have slots for. So some may ask so they don't waste their time with a class they won't like and that they would avoid if they heard opinions. Though, there's videos of all classes at the top of their gameplay being posted out there.

As for the bandwagon, it may hurt end game a bit because if too many people keep going to the fotm class, and knowing that not everyone is an instant pro, we'd be seeing a lot of sub par runs with people not fully grasping the class because they are simply not used to it, then changing again to the next just as they started to get an idea of what they were leaving behind. But I know I'm exaggerating a bit. Thing is, if a player stays with a class, finds they like it, and resists the temptation of the fotm calls, he will keep improving on that class and in the end may not need to change.

NOW, as I saw around in this thread, the OP just wants an alt. So I suppose we could try to fotm a bit for an alt because we will not dedicate enough time anyway. Just keep getting better on your main as well meanwhile.
  • The awkward male pronouns lmao.

I've enjoyed archer before, I used to main archer but I just dont want something thats going to be very low in dps at end game. Its gotta suck to be the lowest dps in a dungeon.

Well, slayer is very nice if you learn to use it even now, with some buff it's probably the best of the 3 pve wise.
I have just two chars, and one is a sorc. It's very fun for me to play, but even with the buffs i don't really think it's going to be very strong. Not like a gunner or a ninja at least. Still it doesn't work bad at all, and it's very strong in pvp.

I can't say much about archers since i haven't tried nor i have run with them so much.
  • I just want a class that takes some skill to be good at, nothing like the new classes, as personally for me they are boringly easy.

If you want something with skill, i suggest warrior which are also getting a buff on glyph in blade draw, dmg increase in scythe.

That's when dps meters somtimes become useful. Since ktera has talent system, some buffs here may not be as impactful. On the other hand, "being lowest dps" depends by how much. If the dps above you is only up by 5/10%, then i wouldn't complain being lowest. Some ppl jsut have better gear/ better skill, etc. But if even with buffs you lowest by a landslide (having good gear, skill, rotations), then that's BHS' fault on balancing.

You may have already heard about mage update; it's not only for sorc, but for old classes too but sadly this may take sometime, but it has been announced.

Cuz by your posts seems like, and i can't blame you, you want a class with decent dps and skill.

Well, if you do want a solid dps classic class, I've been recommending slayer to people around. This class has remained relevant for the longest time. Not top dps, but neither trash tier. Can solo farm really well. It's also relatively easy to learn while being hard to master.
