Please make Tera Rewards Optional
I've been playing Tera for around 3 years now. I was excited and interested to see the rewards program implemented. However, when it hit, I was not too thrilled by the rewards.
To elaborate, the shop/emporium and points system is wonderful. Points for playing, pvp, pve. Nice. Great. Tiers for prizes, also fantastic.
What I dislike is that while I can chose the rewards I like from this shop, I cannot chose some of the other "perks" of the system.
What drew me into tera and keeps me making different alts is the leveling. The questing. Following the storyline. The first two characters I leveled within the same first year, eager to do all the quests I could while getting them to max level (then 60). I hate when I get overleveled for a quest and then have to skip things to stay on track for the storyline and keep the difficulty level of the quest where it's intended. I hate plowing through things (i tend to not even use those xp boost vouchers). I'm now leveling a new character, a slayer and was hoping to relive the joy of going through the storyline as it was meant to be played.
Instead, I find that if I touch any of the yellow side quests, I am overleveled for the red story quests and go through them too quickly, too easily. I know many new players in the mmo scene want to get through to endgame asap, and so this xp boost as a reward should be optional to help them out.
But many of us enjoy the lore and the experience and want to take the time to complete every quest on their journey.
It makes me not want to create and level any new characters because I want them all on the same account, but I want to enjoy my time raising them to max level. So please, think of players like me who honestly just want to enjoy the game, the full game, and make rewards such as the xp boost optional.
Thank you for your time.

Then there's avatar weapons, which made everything but bams level 53 and up not challenging at all, and made level up boring and not a source of gameplay training for new players.
But as a tier 3 I get whatever 15%? hunting xp, which means when I do any quest that involves killing things (which is probably like 85% of the leveling quests) I get more xp than I need. I want the option to not have that. I understand that it's a little more sped up to 20 as well, that is not my issue. 20-60 I should not be only just barely staying at the right level for the story quests and not even able to do side quests if I want to stay on target. I'm already at level 31 and I've barely touched any side quests since 20.
well leveling is so fast and easy now that's just not fun anymore. you can't enjoy the leveling dungeons... If I could turn that exp off from tera rewards I would.
A small example. After doing BoL, you get to the Poporia arc. Just doing that arc with, not even all yellow quests, by the time you reach sinestral manor you are either completely overleveled for IMS or maybe one level from it. Then you are tossed into several arcs that end you at Cultist Refuge, where if you did all the stuff before, you will be most likely way overleveled for CR.
A cool idea for exp would be to make an item called experience bauble. I saw this in another game. But here in tera, you could activate a bauble to suck in ALL exp you would get, essentially stopping your exp gain in full. The bauble would get just a limited amount of exp so you you need to store more, you'd need to get another bauble. Now, in the case you need that exp back for some reason, you just break the baubles and the exp is added to your character. I know, it conflicts with those level up scrolls EME gives around. But baubles would be a way to give people the choice, more or less, to do content at certain level.
Another thing would be a forcing of max level per area just like GW2. Yes, weapons and skills would still make you more OP than characters at the correct level, but you wouldn't be so OP that everything dies in one shot... wait, everything already dies in one shot anyway. >.<
As someone who has played GW2, that constant scaling is both good and bad. It's good that max level can play with their new friends without penalizing them exp wise, but it's also bad as there is never any zone where you feel like it's not a threat (except for maybe the racial starter areas). It gets irritating to be constantly scaled down all the time though (unless you are in level 78-80 zones).
Isn't that actually a good challenge? Then again, even in GW2, which I also play once in awhile, very few things can kill you in low level zones once you overlevel them by a fair amount. And when you go there at level 80 and Exotic gear and up, you can even solo group content there if you are good enough. The good about that game is that on the flip side, VERY few things die in one hit.
A toggle for even basic xp would be wonderful because sometimes you can get out of sync and be a level ahead if you end up doing all the quests, even without the reward tiers. Like you said keeping an alt at a certain level to help others would be very cool (hell, if i could turn off the xp, I would keep someone at Sky Garden since that's usually a slow queue and it would be nice to help people through it).
