Old school MMO player starting on TERA, is it still worth it?

Hello,
I've always been thinking about playing this game, but I was busy with other stuff.
Comming from stuff like Blade & Soul, Guild Wars 2, Neverwinter, etc, played them all in a competitive PvP level. Now they all suck, and I've heard that TERA came back from the dead with the recent patches.

My question is:
Is the game still 'alive'? I mean, can I actively find pvp queues in arenas and such, pugging dungeons, etc? Is there a solid population for both pvp and pve?
I downloaded the game yesterday, my Reaper is level 64, and servers went down, feelsbadman, but I will be experiencing the level cap gameplay today, thinking about buying the elite thing, but I just want to make sure this is not another dead/dying mmo before I invest more time into it.

    Try it, we have own good and bad things. BGs are alive and pugs still come to runs to DGs trough LFG and even in IMM system

    Tera is worth it to play because it's unique in the full on action game play. other mmo's are mostly point and click and in my opinion very boring.

    tera is like this:
    Most skills in tera are like AOE skillshots and the players/npc have a 3d hitbox like a shooter + i-frames, unlike bns who uses a soft targeting system, that means that you will hit a target who hides behing a monster (in bns you can hide behind a cat), and the monster or GW2 who uses tab targeting with i-frames.

    Hitboxes on tera are good... and bad, as elin you are too hard to hit, but too hard to heal. As baraka you are too easy to hit, but too easy to heal.

    There are a lot of skills in tera, like wow so you'll have to use a rotation not like bns where it feels more like a fighting game... but that rotation not always will hit the target if he moves around and in pvp, CC is your best friend and your worst enemy, in pvp you'll use less skills than in pve for that reason, some times, there is no time for a rotation.

    The game IS grindy (as any korean game), but is fair. not like bns, where the game feels unfair and you feel the paywall at low lvls because the terrible gear progression system. in tera the gear progression system is like the wow, you have gear for pvp and pve and a standart initial gear for both.

    The game doesnt pretend be a e-sport like GW2 it'll just make you feel like the elite of your server.

    fashion is a great point in this game, no matter if you are a hardcore pvp, epic raider. You'll feel a need to wear the best outfit out there (because in tera is easy to get the costumes you like even with gold).

    tera have like 3 or 4 kind of pvp 2 bg and 1 or 2 arena, including 1v1. but they feel different each other.

    tera lacks from in-game physics so may feel weird if you come from GW2/Wildstar/bns/BDO. but that is because the combat system.

    some skills have flat aoe hitboxes, its bad in some situations.

    some classes requires low pings (you cant play this game with 200 + and do 4 star dungeons or some pvp contents)

    there is no pvp at low lvls (now we have a low lvl bg but its not like any bg out there)

    bammarama, elins, casino like box system and events to suck your gold and cash, elins, hard dungeons, elins, guild drama, elins, kyra the hellbringer, elins, and more elins. you'll get raped by elins in pvp servers with weird intentions.

    Not entirely true, I play wtth 220 ms ping, and do 4 star dungeons, and pvp normally. Most do it anyway.

    PVP and PVE queues run normally.
