Conflate Chest - Inferior to Dreadnaught in PvP

Aight so i ran a test earlier(not sure if applies to all classes but for ninja using cloth these were the results), yes i understand conflate armor will be receiving a buff today but hear me out:

Both items have been enchanted to +12 and set with optimal rolls for reduced damage and also from front.

Set bonuses did not apply for endurance during these tests

Gunners basic attack hits in Dreadnaught for 1009 to the front
The same attack does 1137 to Conflate to the front

Thats about a 10% difference, with todays patch only buffing conflate chest by 6%, i cant see how any of us should consider conflate as a viable option for pvp... shame really, hopefully heavy armor/leather classes arent impacted by this

  • so like, did you go out of your way to make sure stats did not change like endurance?
  • hmm, you sure all the other stats are the same?

full conflate gunner can take 2 Verno lasers to the face with about 20K health left, full dread is one shotted... but thats pve...

Slaughter is definitely weaker than conflate, but then again it's also weaker than dread apparently.

These stat differences are pretty confusing, and it may be just me, but it seems like sometimes I take waaay more damage than other times.

Like, even schisma players cut through my HP faster than they used to on Dread, which is just freaking weird. This is why I'm just going for full Starfall right now lol

PvP dmg scaling is weird, and it doesn't help that the PvE dmg calculation is also pretty obnoxious.

I mean... look at PvE dmg calculation...

    (∑ Attack Mod) * (3+ 0.03(∑ Power)) + (Class Base Attack) = Attack

    (Attack) * (Skill base) * (∑ %Damage Mod) = Raw Damage

    (∑ Defense Mod) * (3+(∑ Endurance/100)) + (Class Base Defense) = Raw Defense

(Raw Defense) * (1- ∑%Damage reduction Modifier) = True Defense

(Raw Damage) / (Target True Defense) = True Damage

then there's PvP calculation where there's some kind of multiplier for each dmg on top of (PvP Attack - PvP Defense) values.

To make a perfect testing, you take off everything except for the chest to compare first.

You also have to consider the set bonuses of gears, where Dreadnaught have

    <With 2 of set:> Increases Power by 6.
    <With 3 of set:> Increases Endurance by 5.
    <With 4 of set:> Increases Power by 6.
    <With 5 of set:> Increases Endurance by 4.

    while Conflate has

    <With 2 of set:> Increases Power by 8.
    <With 3 of set:> Increases Endurance by 7.
    <With 4 of set:> Increases Power by 8.
    <With 5 of set:> Increases Endurance by 6.

If you had 5 set of dreadnaught and replaced chest with conflate, you lost 4 endurance.

each classes have different scaling of defense per endurance, but they should be within 100~200 defense per endurance.

yeah i used 1 starfall weapon, slaught boots,belt,gloves... and dread/confl chest... both of which had 0 effect on the set bonus...

this is accurate, i tested it also with a reapers damage before posting the thread, screenshots can be provided but the fact is all tests were performed to the face with both items rolled for reduce damage/pvp(conflate) and reduce frontal damage for both... ima test it now the servers are back up with conflate chest havign an extra 6% pvp mitigation but i expect to see dreadnaught chest is still 4% better than conflate for cloth users

(i tested it to the face so forceful crystal would not tamper the results)

yeah bro as you can see in my comment above, this was taken into consideration and has not effected the testing process T_T i just want the fact i spent half the value of +15 starfall(200k+) to actually benefit me than an item that's easier to get than idoneal
  • So tested again, Conflate is now 4% better than Dreadnaught in pvp... better but how the hell that works is beyond me
