Class Balance vs. Talent System

We know that the talent system is not coming to regions outside of KR, and it also benefits some classes a lot more than others. However, according to a EU TERA GM:
Bluehole recently reconfirmed with us that the talent system is definitely not planned for a release outside of Korea.
They also confirmed to us that any class balancing is not made with the talent system in mind. Instead they base it on the "core" game that all regions have to avoid balance problems in other regions.

Hopefully they mean after the big class revamps this summer, because it looks nothing like that now.

    BHS thinks balance means PVP only, I guess. Dungeons and dailies are definitely 'balanced' with the talent system in mind.

    They've been nerfing or buffing a lot of classes based on talents (ninja's main nerf was through talents iirc, and slayer is much stronger with talents). I don't see how they're not balancing around the system. Especially when classes like priest or sorc would be greatly improved with the talents that KTERA has.

    I guess we'll see what happens with the class revamps, but if any "balance" is just fiddling with the talent system, they're obviously not interested in keeping balance for other regions.

    Because now people have already invested in it. I suspect they're probably going to find the right time to phase it out, but it might wait until the next level cap increase when everything would essentially be reset anyway.

    BHS says classes are balanced. We should take their word for it, guize. It is their game, after all.

    Remember, if you're getting out-dps'd by other classes, it's because you're bad and you're obviously playing your class wrong.

    i dont think so, they are "balanced" if a cloth dps MUST do more damage because uses cloth in a dungeon where plate classes get one-shot doens't make any sense. and a leather dps with less mobility and just a few i-frames do halft dps, there is a problem men.

    old classes are behind new classes in dps. just try out-dps a ninja with a sorcerer, or a brawler with a warrior (tank).
