Archers "Rapid Fire" renewal suggestion.
Hi! This is my first topic soo..
I playing archer for a long time, my ping 200 ms and Rapid Fire looks like not friendly to this ping. This skill very cool, its replenish MP and does a fairly good damage. After next patch RF will be 3rd main skill after RoA, RA.
I suggest to modified Rapid Fire by adding button, like "Personalized Greeting" have one:

After press it, we will get a selection window

After press skill button once, RF become normal, like brawlers "Jackhammer"... or Ninjas "Leaves of the Wind"... or Warriors chained "Traverse Cut". Why we still need hold down button? Because only first hit stagger enemy. You want to use RF in PVP, dont you?
Hmm.. So if there is no need to hold down skill button, let's make a 0.15 sec delay before hit (to your discretion), so:
(I'm not quite sure about that) > But there are some drawbacks - you can't aim RF as before, unless skill ends just like Leaves of the wind, Jackhammer, etc.
I hope EME can make this exclusive for NA only, and all archers will be happy!

Burst fire easy to solve: just use macro or smashing wasd+skill button same time
I really like your idea since Rapid Fire can be #1 dps skill at sub-20 ms. that being said, it might have to be really pushed by out-regions like us- kTERA players have no problem with this at all and it won't be a priority for BHS to fidget with.
All the old classes are getting revamped, starting with sorcerers as most of you have seen already from kTERA news provided by select few. from earlier conversations with Nexon GMs, archers might be next in line and we might be getting the changes done in October this year for kTERA- apparently it's easier to revamp than sorcerers. so any other changes might take possibly... 6 months considering we get approval from the naTERA publisher in the next 2 weeks, get word sent, discuss discuss and debate... BHS will probably focus on the revamp already in design so any big changes like the one you proposed will possibly get added the next update.
Sorry if i'm looking at this too realistically and might sound like i'm being negative but i do really appreciate this suggestion and hope it gets approval.

Yea, but when BHS will revamp archer on their region and NA will get this patch several months later... it's take 1-2 year. We can't be sure when and how archer will be revamped. I just suggest to make archers more profitable in PvE for non-NA players. I'm sure all archers will shoot all of the 7 "Rapid Fire" arrows, as it should be with less ping. I hope BHS take note of this in future.
So for gunner burst fire, it will keep burst firing as long as you have willpower unless you press any other key (e.g movement keys). That would fix all issues like archer rapid fire, gunner burst fire.
EDIT: The advantage of doing it this way over just making it shoot all the arrows is you can still move out of it without burning an iframe in case you are forced to due to boss mechanics or w/e. Just press any direction key and you just stop rapid firing right there.
It will also still allow you to aim it if your ping is good enough. While in burst fire / rapid fire mode, the game just keeps sending all camera direction updates to the server. If you have low ping, you will be able to aim the shots where you want them. If you have high ping though, you will most likely miss several shots before the server receives the updated information. But that should only be an issue if the boss moves in the middle of you rapid firing which would have made you miss shots anyway if you have really high ping.
Also, for charge skills, they could just make it a double press skill thing. Press once to start a charge, press the second time to shoot it. That will change the feel of the class but it would make it a lot ping friendlier. Sometimes random lag spikes cut my charging short. Id rather have it keep charging instead of throwing out a radiant without even charging one bar.
EDIT: With clever use of animations, you can make people feel as if they are charging up a huge skill without forcing them to press and hold a button. For example, gunner Balder's Vengeance feels as though you are charging up a huge skill and its through the animation only. Gamplay wise, you press 1 button and that's it. It wouldn't be impossibly hard to create animations that make charging based classes like zerk and archer feel as though they are still charging up big attacks while removing the requirement to press and hold a button.
EDIT 2: Only issue i see with this is Salvo cancel. You would need to press salvo and then follow up with a movement key to get out of salvo. If you have low ping that shouldn't be an issue. If you have really high ping, i doubt you can efficiently use salvo cancel effectively, especially if you get fluctuating ping. The ones who would be affected the most would be the ones playing in the 100 to 250 ms range is my guess. You would most likely have to macro it to press salvo and then tap a movement key right after to cut you out of salvo.
Would it be worth it for archer? maybe, maybe not.
For gunner this change would definitely be better imo. There is near no reason to stop burstfiring once you start it up unless you want to move out of it, which isn't too often since you usually look for boss animation locks to start burst fire.
What you are sugesting will kill pvp archer. Since you can use the mid charge final salvo cancel for stagger followed by anothef rf stagger.
It is necessary preserve both gameplays. That is why a toggle option like OP sugested is the best.
Using a twice key press isnt good, since will increase the response time, and delaying the final salvo cancel effect
