Game optimziation in near future?

Hi, so its been years since I attempted to run tera, I paid for a good rig that should max out every game released so far.
In tera I get around 15-40 depending on the area but most of the time the game feels choppy, I tried several fixes myself too.
Anyway the point of the thread is if there are any optimizations planned for the very near future for the game?
Because I heard something on the tera stream that the possibility exists.

BHS Official response on TERA optimization is that there will be none.

BHS is aware of the need for optimization and says they have been forsaking it for more content. They may get to it in the future.

Uh, what? The game barely runs properly as it is!

Game barely runs on a $1,800 laptop. This game is fun and I love it but BHS is taking us for granted sooner or later karma will set in for them because they keep ignoring this issue.

Game is old already, so I doubt BHS will spend too many resources fixing the performance issues. As stated, BHS is more interested in pushing more stuff, like elin locked classes, copy/paste dungeons and tons more elin panties, than something as trivial(to them) as making the game run on a computer other than theirs.

    Tera 2 - sounds lovely :3

Im open to a tera 2 but I hope they make something that we can export our old characters to it.

@RKC sorry if I sound dull, but that is the dumbest idea I've ever heard. Just lol. What is even the point of making a brand new game if you're gonna transfer an already completed character to it, deminishing literally 50% of the gameplay the second it comes out.

The only bottleneck is the cpu. The only way to fix it is to add multi cpu support which means remaking the game. It's not as simple as slapping a dx11 wrapper to it and calling it a 64bit game. That would allow for memory to be used, but at the end of the day, it's still down to the cpu.
  • I would gladly pay 5$ for investing into optimization, would you?
If each of us do, they can easily invest on transfering (not remaking) the content.
They should change game engine all together, UE3 uses a bugged version to run the game, which is totally bad, I own a 2500$ Worth Desktop Pc, it can be used for professional use as well, I can play black desert and other more demanding or appealing games, but this game makes my PC be on its Knees Without even a single person on screen besides me and mobs.
If you add up the latency+population, yeah, it is unplayable.
The "barely playable" is relevant, I paid for a good PC, I demand the game I invest in to be able to be maxed and smooth with the new Gen of Home Computers.

Where to start, first off they should add a 64bit client,t hey should decrease CPU utilization demands from the game, they should optimize the servers and populated areas, they should go for Upgrading to UE4 from UE3 with the help of epic games. They shouldalso add multiple versions of directx for different Graphics Cards dx9-dx12 with the update as well,
All that would help out on making the game actually fun/enjoyable in a sense of not being choppy and static.
The Cpu is always limited by technology, it is also the most difficult part to upgrade, the game should use Gpu more than Cpu for that reason.

Even if it takes them a lot of money, they should attempt the project to make the game rise higher and broader, I would gladly pay 5$ for contributing to the development of this project, would you? Together we can fund the project, it is not big of a deal and besides they squeezed a lot of money from us, why not making the game playable?...

They can easily attempt a reboot of the game instead, like an upgrade (not just update), or major update/rework or whatever, the game itself is fun as a game, but feeling choppy while playing is not so nice in my experience and people with common issues (epilepsy-type) will have problems playing.
The story can be ever changing in the game, so no point on making tera 2, besides it sounds weird to say tera2... so yeah.
All they need to fix is the engine, how it handles and uses the PC resources, and some other quality of life stuff.

Optimizing this game would means almost total re-make of the game = too much money to invest.

If anything, I'd rather see them make a new Tera 2, with less Elins, than putting money into an old game.

I would want it to stay as "Tera" and be a franchise reboot instead.
I personally love Lynns more (from BnS) because they have more of animalxchild than the elins do, they just look like little girls with neko-mimi and cosplay. A Broader update to all classes + adding new ones would be nice as well, indeed. Making a neko-mata race or similar, how about elephantxdemi-human race, or dragon race besides the ones we already have. Lastly Demon-Angel race, adding emphasis on wings as well (castanics look demon-like but they dont have bat-wings).
    :)

If that is the case, they are money squeezers and not a company suited for a great game.

Money is the key for a slowly dying game. Deal with it :awesome:
