    I just completed an Imperator Cuirass. Amongst other things it consumed 12000 feedstock from 0 to 15. And 3000 spellbind to roll. That pales in to insignificance when compared to my Shadowvain ring which took over 520 attempts to roll.
  • I've had over 50 tries just to masterwork one piece of mid-tier... if RNG hates me that much then I imagine awakened enchanting VM would probably cost me much more than just buying +15 off the broker.

    Stella = 6 tries
    Protestar = 37 tries
    Starfall Chest = 40 tries

    So these stories are all worrying me a lot lol. I currently have a full +12 Slaughter Berserker, and soon I'll have enough PvP credits across all my characters to buy SF materials and craft my SF axe. I'll be at +12 SF if I'm lucky within a month or so, because that's about how long it took me to +12 my Slaughter gear. I've heard that +12 SF is just *barely* better than +12 Slaughter. Is it even worth the trouble?

    +12 Starfall is worse than +12 Slaughter.

    I believe your Starfall has to be +14 or higher to be considered better than Slaughter.

    It took me ~180 tries to masterwork my sf staff! xD

    The consensus is that getting VM gear isn't worth it if you're not going to take it beyond +12, so, as others have said, a +12 SL weapon is a safest bet than a SF +12 one, at least it's easier to get, that's for sure. However, SF weapons (for DPS, that is) have an extra "damage from behind" line and an extra rerollable line, for most cases that should suffice, however, to fully surpass the performance of a +12 slaughter weapon you might want to enchant it to +13 at least.

    In any case, just avoid trying to brute-force the process, try not to do more than 10 or 15 attemps in a row, maybe your enchanting odds won't really be better, but failing 10 times in a row is certainly less frustating than failing 50.

    It might be worth to buy it, at least for PvE starfall still is the 2nd best weapon you can get right now and seemingly this patch will be a looooong one gear-progression wise. However, you would need to run either dungeons and/or battlegrounds to craft it and as far as I remember you prefer to solo, if that's still the case your safest option is to buy it from others (specially if you don't want to fight your way through awakened enchanting).

    You are right, I'm a solo player. It's not that I don't want to try group content, but I have no friends and my computer is a potato. Oh and my main is a filthy trash archer and nobody on my server likes archers. Sooo... yeah. If I want VM, I'd just have to save up for it and buy it. I really don't want to mess with awakened enchanting, that sounds like a nightmare. O.o

    115 attempts for +13

    42 so far for +14

    This [filtered] is so broken... it needs ench advantage cause.... ALK + Feed costs are terrible...
    Or at least able to do same gear awaken enchant

    Im still known as the Highwatch joke for Elin hating + unable to +15 after quite sometime...
  • Well =13'ing my sf wep would be nice but if i use that much fod on weap and fail so much i end up with no =13-14-15.... Ill prob never go for + awakened anything....ill just stay +12

    Awakening really needs enchantment correction. The ammount of fails people can get in a row while some go all the way to +15 in less than 10 tries is absurd
  • you guys should be happy that enchanting in tera doesnt break your gear...

    For you pve heros,

    I'd like to add that lucid 15+ dps weapons are better than slaughter 12+ due to their 3 extra lines and higher impact, with only a very slight decrease in attack modifier. Bother have the same item level (403) and lucid can be bought with and etching 2 or 3 for pennies more than a 0+ slaughter weapon from the trade broker.

    Interesting... I might consider that, the only major problem being that the next time gear gets upgraded, I doubt Lucid will be viable anymore.

    For weapons, if you're looking at raw attack power (that is, disregarding gear rolls), then yes - +12 Slaughter ~ +14 Starfall.
