Zerker IoD bams?

Any tips or tricks for doing bams on zerker I'm trying to do onyx hydraths and having a really rough time. Just wondering where i could make this a little easier for myself..

Don't you love when you use a charged skill or one with a long cast time and it doesn't crit? : (

That's a unique feature to TERA that BHS implemented it's called frustrating players who use charge skills by not letting them get crit damage. >:) Great work BHS devs A+ for effort.

Here's what I do. Stack as much crit factor as possible, use keen charm. Can use either carving or pounding crystal (I've been using pounding lately in dungeons too). Don't use Cyclone. When hydrath uses lightning attack while charging Thunderstrike, use Evasive Smash to get behind it and block the AOEs, then use the 2nd hit for a back crit. Weave in a Vampiric Blow chain and Combo + Raze into Thunderstrike when you can for extra damage. Sometimes I'll even use Tackle if the hydrath does its charge attack and I'm too far away. I've found using a Thunderstrike rotation to be more effective on solo BAMs for better positioning and overall DPS. It also frees up a bunch of glyph points for other skills.

Put one thing in mind: Bams like to attack where you were. There sometime they would follow you to turn yet most the time they attack where you were. Dash is important during bam fight, it help you back hit or charge during move to back faster/easier. So you don't need to wait almost move to back then start charging...
Before you get used to the BAM, you could play safe just use TS as main skill and ignore cyclone until you get the timing and BAM attack pattern.
Save staggering strike for inturr some AOE skill or you can even fear the BAM for fun = =lll

double crit glyph for zerk or triple crit glyph for slayer... are a lie...
Not to mention BAM higher level than you have better crit resist.

Sometimes when that happens I wish I could teleport to the data center and smash the servers with a hammer... But I'm sure that hit wouldn't crit either and I'd hit a power line instead and get electrocuted.

From my own IoD experience, dash is your BFF, then crit factor and double crit glyphs for your big hitters. TS is the quicker big hit as you can glyph slick for full move speed, it has a low CD and other skills have glyphs that give TS a faster charge(like the stagger strike). Flurry is also a good friend as it gives more charge an attack speed for awhile. If you ant to use Cyclone, glyph mocking shout to speed cyclone. MS's buff will keep you from being interrupted by most things. OR learn the timings for the bam attacks and use your cyclone behind it just as the bam is locked in an animation. Leaping strike can be used for escaping danger situations when your evade is on cooldown if you know how to use it.

These are things I use and do, but I'm not a pro. Also, zerker dps guides out there may refer more to end game dungeons where you have a tank and a healer, instead of soloing, where the enemy is always trying to look your way, so some tactics and even some choices of glyphs may change. Fo example stagger strike is usually not glyphed in dungeon because boss is immune to it. But IoD bams are not so you can take advantage of it by turning the boss and using a quick TS. The charge speed glyph makes you hit TS faster before bam turns.
  • thanks guys i think its just the matter of me getting used to them and the play style of zerker.

OMG. I feel so much pains. I feel so sorry for zerker. No crit with evasive smashing. Oh no. You don't have to do IOD high tier bam with zerker. I would do CW and AB with zerker. And, IOD with ninja, brawer, lancer, mystic, and maybe gunner and slayer.

That white non- crit evasive smashings.. Give a Backstabb skill to Berserker !!. It's just so sad to watching it. QQ
  • Hey, that's-a me.

You might want to glyph things like Tenacity for HP restoration and Dash with the Energetic glyph. Really helps with HP control from Overcharging/getting randomly trampled and optimal back-time on the BAMs.

Since nobody has mentioned this, additional tips that you may take or leave: Get priest buffs and use slaying crystal. It's easy to stay below 50% HP as a berserker, as long as you know how to stay alive. This really speeds up the kills. Make use of the HP motes when they drop and have some bandages too just in case you need healing between battles. And of course, make use of the dawn keening mote when it decides to appear, it's your best friend.
  • how about doing it like Giliglade? With front crit crystal?

Nope. Better off either learning how to quickly back crit than slugging it with a front crit. I did it before, but the front crit resist of bams will make you lose a LOT of dps. Sure it's easier. Sure it's tempting, but all those white damage numbers will quickly tell you it's a waste of time. So yeah. Learn to back crit is the best way.

That's enough out of you. You were the person that never suggested people to do IoD bams on lancer and then one person posted a leet video at you and suddenly you changed your mind and including Lancers on your IoD list. I guess anybody can post a video will automatically convince you huh?

The Berserker wasn't applying pressure at all so that is bad comparsion but I'm still you are thrilled to use this as reference to tell other people how garbage Berserkers are just because of that single video. I've seen better so that's not a good player showcasing what Berserkers can do against high-level IoD bams.

I thought his video was pretty good. He got a nice amount of backtime with even the most annoying BAMs, and he didn't do anything that made me cringe or think "UGH, why did you do X when you could've done Y." Considering he's not in VM (or at least, it didn't have wings), it's a pretty nice representation of what an average zerker can likely expect.

That dinners guy isn't even wrong here; crit resist at iod is huge, and makes it fairly painful for zerks in many respects. Then you have bams like fangspawns with huuuuuge hitboxes that make them difficult to kite. That problem is of course amplified when you're fighting high tier bams and you have to deal with even more crit resist, even more hp, and to top it off a bunch of chain staggers/knockdowns.

    Front-hitting iod bams
At high tier iod bams it's just so bad. A single kill takes forever. I don't even do it unless I go in a party with someone else. Then I just tank it while they attack the back. Might have to kill twice as many, but it's faster than going it alone unless I'm lucky on the keen mote drops or something.
