Individual Looting
This game desperately needs individual looting due to the following reasons:
1. In any given party, premade or through instance matching, there are some players who are literally floor masters but come roll on loot time they are gods and roll only 90's. TFW you do 50% dps as a tank and the DPS who was dead 90% of the time doing 1% dmg rolls on the weapon and wins it...
2. Foreign people who just roll on everything. Had a run where the person rolled on gear they already had +12 and you couldn't even make feedstock out of it.
3. People who roll on BOP materials for end game gear that you know they will never reach in their lifetime. Lets be real here, some people will never ever build end game VM when its out so why let them roll on it esp. if they can't even sell it?
4. People reserving drops in dungeons...
Individual looting solves all these problems because it now becomes a matter of completing the dungeon and not how good your roll game is. AND we all know the better floor master you are the higher you roll.

You say you dislike reserving drops but, people rolling on stuff they don't need is part of why people reserve drops... other times it's just because they want them
Another thing you failed to consider is you can use BoP gear of the same name to enchant your own gear, and you can collect it for alts as well.
And by default we can make instance matching be set to individual looting but if you're running a premade for an end game dungeon then you can set it to the regular looting system.
Shared looting can be great with people who know each other and between friends but everyone knows the looting in instance matching is cancer.
Bluehole and EME knows this because thats why they made dreadnaught not give feedstock and everyone gets the gear box.
Individual looting resolves the reserving drops so I'm not sure why you mentioned that...
And to address the point about using the same BoP gear to enchant...again another selfish thing to do is use gear that someone can actually equip and use as fodder to enchant your weapon. Bluehole and EME seem to be moving away from this with feedstock and new items not giving any feedstock. But once again this is mostly applied to instance matching. If you are doing a fodder run locally and you set it to shared loot then by all means use it as fodder.
Not to mention all the other problems individual looting can resolve.
This would either ruin the economy by having more loot drop OR, make people complain about low drop rates because they aren't seeing the full drops. Let's not also forget the enormous amount of work that it would be to "fix" something that's not really an issue. For the most even in instance matching I don't see people roll on stuff they don't need.
In the games I've played with individual looting everyone was so removed from everyone else and typically was rush rush rush rush, no time to wait for others who were slower looting their stuff because they were actually trying to see if it was better then what they had already. We already have too much rushing, we don't need more.
Also, with the system of shared loot (instance matching aside), people tend to find like minded players. Some people like doing reserved runs (typically either the greedy or unlucky players), others do ffa runs, others roll on everything and annoy other players making it harder for them to join future groups, others still form statics where they help each other out in getting their gear (including vm mats).
I feel individual loot would make the players in tera become even more isolated from each other and thus care less about how the group as a whole is doing and only care about their loot. Not to mention the total break of immersion that individual loot brings on.
I don't think looting has anything to do with players becoming isolated with each other. This is a problem caused by many other issues Tera has.
The fact that you said "For the most even in instance matching I don't see people roll on stuff they don't need." Shows either you're one of those people who roll on stuff they don't need or you haven't been playing this game very long. Also for dungeons where people want to "rush rush rush" would be rushed regardless of what the looting system is like.
Regarding your last comment about people only caring about their loot, that's how it is now with the current system. Individual looting makes it so that you only care about dungeon completion vs. am I going to roll high on this gear that I need against 4/6/9 other people.
And again the option to keep the loot the same aka shared loot will still be an option so there is literally no downside to this. And you say it would be an enormous amount of work but the whole point of this section is to pitch ideas that might help Tera so I'm not sure why you even mentioned this except for the fact that you didn't actually read my post or think about what you were saying.
