Not being able to queue multiple BGs at the same time is killing the queue times.

And it will never be fixed.

inb4 multiqueue and all lands in grid (cuz its the top of the list)

Dungeon matching: does not matter because you can just use LFG. Has multiq.
BG matching: matters because you cant LFG. Does not have mutliq.

    10/10
  • You'd think that with how long TERA has been out they woulda applied this option to BG's as well. . .

While I would like battleground matching to be multiqueue, if I were BHS/EME I wouldn't make multiqueue for PvP for a few reasons:

    1) It will be a logic and server side nightmare. Grid requires you to queue solo, Fraywind can be queued in a party up to 5, and there are two queues for Skyring. Of course, this logic could be mitigated if proper handling of the battlegrounds you can queue for based on the party strength is done. (Eg. Show all BGs and make team 3s disabled when solo queue, and Hide Grid if in a premade of 2 or more people.) IMS on the server side will be even worse. Note that even though matches are honestly not that balanced these days, BG leader and rating calculations are done when the "waiting room" is prepared. Having a multiqueue meant that even more checks have to be in place, which isn't a problem on the PvE side where no form of rating is needed.

    2) Most players would queue for all because unlike PvE, there is no real "penalty" for losing other than a rating loss, and as said early, by logic these players if queued for all will naturally be posted to the first battleground in the list, or like channelworks, to skyring just because they have the least people. At least I know if I am allowed to multiqueue, I will just check off the select all button and press match, and I am pretty sure many people will have the same idea.

    3) For gods sake it is PvP. Every battleground has a slightly different objective. It is not like dungeons where the goal is normally to kill the boss and get over with it. This is actually somewhat effective as a way to keep your mind in track of the battleground you are doing. People can argue that experienced players would have played every battleground before, but remember that Battleground matching has no iLevel requirement, meaning that even the worst players who hit the required level can trap your equalised Champion's Skyring because they queued for everything instead of realising that Corsair's is (albeit slightly) more newbie friendly for example.

To an extent you can LFG for it, but for balance purposes they set limits to the number of people you can bring along. You would have realised that the only queue that is more than 5 is CS with their 20 man raid, and IIRC that queue is nearly dead. Of course, waiting for the day where you can host practice battleground rooms.

^ They could just simply disallow queuing for a BG you aren't eligible for.

And since single queue doesnt stop people from queuing something they don't understand I sincerely doubt multi queue would make any difference. Bads gonna be bad no matter what the system is.
