Here's an idea

Could we have NPCs selling buffs? Like the Cleric of Restoration but with buffs c:

Inside the dungeons - at the entrance, or in the camps where daily quests send you....
This could be very handy I believe.

What do you guys think?

Oh God, no. But priests are not always there when you need some.
You know lots of players do solo VG quests, I thought it would be nice having a way to get a standard set of buffs in some of the camps...

Take Talisman Trio and Everful Nostrum for example, great idea to make it one click away.
  • well there you go..."solo" dungeon with "party" buff...doesnt sound right...right? The ability to take the priest buff and walk away is already too much an advantage.

have you been to the Kalivans Entrance and seen the merchant inside. Go to cut throat harbor it's already there.

I think you misunderstood the idea...

Having an NPC selling buffs will not take away anything from any priest. If anything, that would be an insult to all priests playing here thinking that that's all they're good for, buffing. Far from me that idea - their role in a party is much more complex and important than that...

I am solely talking about having a way of buffing in the solo content like Arena, Ace dungeons, Vanguard camps, etc. if that makes sense.
Personally, I don't have a pocket priest to buff every time I run all this content mentioned above s so most of the time I spend looking for someone willing to buff me (I sometimes even pay)

Or what they could do........is make npc buff bots. Highwatch on VoT has one it's called BugsBuffy lol go figure.

That's basically what they're asking for, just that you would have to pay for it.

We might as well make it a legal thing. That will prevent one more thing from hackers doing lol.
  • This would also be a gold sink that we desperately need...

This could be nice, it wouldn't really get of priests because you know... it didn't make Stam potions, HP/MP heals, etc obsolete. And besides that, once you die, all your buffs are gone! Just have basic buffs with no glyphs, everyone is happy.

This could be expanded into a pocket NPC like the traveler insurance. Say, summon a popori (because it always has to be a popori) to give you priest buffs on the spot and maybe also acting as a cleric of restoration. All for a price that would also prevent it's abuse. Make it not usable in combat stance ether.
  • It would definitely not replace a priest for group dungeons. The dungeons take too long and the buffs would wear off long before the last boss, which we all definitely need healer buffs for, unless we are in +15 doing KDNM. Having an npc sell them would be great. I think enough of us are cheap enough that we would still love getting the free buffs from any priest who happened to be near, but if there is no priest around this would sure be nice.

I think this is a great idea. I agree with the people here who say that it's not a replacement for priests by any means. You're not going to take this npc into a dungeon to heal you. It's no more of a replacement to priest than the current NPC that restores HP is. I'm all for this idea.
