gunner etchings/jewelery dilemma

I've read many guides, inspected many players, including gunners from crusades lists and im still not 100% sure on my etchings.
my gunner has full Sf +12 at the moment, 8 power innerwear, emp brooch , 3 crit, 2 power jewelery, all rolled right(4 cirt, 4 power)
long story short:
-my crit is 47+139
and
-power is 60+131

should i get keen or pumped etchings for wep+gloves ? thanks

i was running a full crit setup with jewelery but recently switched to 3 vain and 2 blood jewels.( i seem to do slightly more damage now)

    Hello!

When deciding on how much crit to go for, you'll want to go by the crit cap of burstfire. If you are a high elf without crit innerwear, get 1 keen etch, if you are a castanic with either inner, or high elf with crit, get double power. However generally you want to avoid keen etches altogether, as their statting is poor compared to power etch. (I go by the 2:1 crit:power ratio for comparing things, for a gunner you gain great flexibility for your crit factor by instead swapping necklaces and vyrks, which are 2:1.)

As mystic parties are becoming more frequent, it's safer to be slightly undercapped without one, as it's very easy to get way beyond capped with one, hence why I went for x2 power etches, and exactly your setup on my castanic, where I use carving crystal over pounding or forceful, as it is the same as ~50 crit factor for burst fire, allowing you to gain a lot more power in your gear, and with a mystic, I keep the carving and swap my neck and vyrks to power ones, as pounding crystal is more ineffective if you have starfall compared to slaughter.
http://mxth.github.io/bf/ this is the crit chance calculator for burst fire.

Edit: For certain boss fights, they have different values in crit resist, so you might have to just go by manual testing for your crit rate with burst fire, but when it is critting 100% after the first few shots, that is when you have too much, so ideally stay around 95%-99%. Some fights have mechanics where you might not be able to use burst fire as much either, and then crit can be more favoured.

okay thanks, i'll go for power etchings and check out and test what my crit rate is on burst fire. there's no way i can make use of that formula :pleased:
ill also look into using carving instead of pounding but i just made a pounding dyad .

i love you so much dude, i was wondering how much crit i would need to get enough so my burst fire keeps criting
i figured my crit build for priests have 100% chance for BF and my power build for mistic have 80%, i still need to roll some things so i should be fine

if it helps my gunner stats for:
    Priest (crit build)

    47+153 3 shadow + 2 blood, 4 keen vyrsk and a carving

    Mistic (power build)

    47 + 47 + 109 = 203 2 shadow + 3 blood, 4 forceful vyrsk and pouding

my etchings are keen II on both weapon and gloves i have no good inner armor yet, so i just need to roll my acessories and get a power inner armor

Check out both if you want but I recommend chicken.salad's guide as your go-to.
  • Forsy's Gunner guide is outdated and has some misinformation, chicken salad's guide is more complete and has the opinions of better players
