this isnt an acceptable character name?

I am having problems naming a new character. I have been away for awhile because my old computer died and finding a new one that I could afford and could run games took a long time. I wanted to make a new character so i could relearn everything but I seem to be having trouble getting a new name that works. NOTHING I try works. And 90% of the time it says 'this isnt an acceptable character name' instead of 'this name is already taken' or whatever. These are two different things (right?).

those last few changed the message to 'this is taken' or whatever. So , is that word something bad i am unaware of? Is it the name of a character in the game I dont know about? Is it possible that all those variations are taken(but the message is saying they are unacceptable for some reason)? Are names starting in R not allowed? Am I doing something else wrong? I would love some help here.

    this isnt an acceptable character name = something is tripping the word filter
    this name is take = the name is used by another player

    So if it is tripping the word filter, why? I dont know what is contained in those names that would be bad....

    The "flaws" of the filter derive from multiple filters in different languages and slangs. The former names all contain "haze", which might be blocked as cannabis related.
    Keep in mind that NA servers are international (tho labeled as NA) and EME doesnt want to get bad headlines because we have a KKK guild running around with "Adolf.Hitler-San" as leader, branding Tera as racist MMO. This is why we have this ard filter.

    ^That doesn't make sense. People name themselves inappropriately (or should I say, explicitly) all the time and En Masse is okay with it.

    You are free to make a counter proposal. Perhaps there's one special EME employee who's playing Scrabble and blocking the names, this day it was "Rhazen" and all other variations the employee could think of? Vey unlikely.

    The word filter also goes much further to prevent certain words like "god".

    Keep in mind that there might be other legal interests behind this than we know. Having a player named "sextoy" may not cause any harm, but having a communication platform for illegal drug dealing, terrorism or whatever could really jeopardize EME.

    Not really, it blocks harmless English phrases with characters that mean nothing in other languages. You can also use just about any profane word in chat, and for your character's name it can also contain a lot of inappropriate/profane text that are even English.
