And here I was, praising TERA's buff system for its use of stamina, campfires for resting, charms, and various other consumables as something different and its concept not exactly seen elsewhere, but now they've removed it entirely. GG TERA, alongside the removal of effective free dyeing and the remodeling template system, you've just ruined so much more originality in your concept.

Stamina was always intended as a way to slow player progression, they just made ways to bypass that system with panacea.

Overall the changes are okay, I just sure hope there is a crafting system revamp up their sleeve because the system has become pretty pointless now aside from etching.

A gold sink bypassed with elite.

just like the trade broker tax (this is the first game i play that u can put things to sell with a 0 tax lol)

EDIT: im dumb and cantuse quote system lol
  • The stamina system never really bothered me. I know it's an inconvenience for most players (myself included) to have to stop and drop a campfire or carry panaceas or invest in stamina regen mounts or whatever, but I figured that was just part of the "realism". I wouldn't even mind having a system that required your character to stop to eat and sleep every so often. But that's probably the kind of thing that only appeals to RP immersion players, so removing it is completely understandable. I'm just a little sad for my large collection of various campfires, charms and panaceas :( RIP

Nah it's okay though... the net result will be more room in the bank and inventory for me, so it's all good ;)

Well it did say that the stamina mounts will instead replenish hp and mp or something...? No biggie, I only have 1 stamina-based mount anyway.

Stamina mounts are changing to HP.
It said the effect of stamina is changing to regen of 0.5%hp

They are just implementing a gold a sink mechanic in the background with this changes.

Since if you are not elite you will using 24g(charms)+nostrums gold+scroll gold = potential for at least 60g per use.

I can see they removing the PP when they revamp crafting, since it doesnt have any use other than slow down the crafting process for BiS gear materials.

I am not sure I like the sound of these changes. On one hand, more bank space is pretty cool. On the other, so much flexibility is cast aside. Not to mention the absolute destruction of Alchemy. This is the first MMO that I ever bothered to literally max out on a crafting skill and it was Alchemy that I chose. I am glad to see that my time and investment has been so rewarded by the game's development team.

This gets a great big MEH from me I am afraid. -_-

Yeah that... I kinda just skimmed through everything (will try to read more in-depth once official NA TERA updates are announced).

Hmm.. unfortunately my main's stamina mount also has an identical hp regen mount counterpart... so one of them will end up being rendered useless (that or I'll just have 2 of the same mount for no apparent reason)

lol I never invested in stamina mounts. Glad I didnt.

No campfires will force crafting to be done at city crafting zones and remove neat exploration tricks via homeward bound.

So instead of making the various non-mainstream charms and scrolls useful, they opt to excise them completely.

Is all this simplification and dumbing down of consumables and buffs worth losing out item variety and some uniqueness of TERA? I question why BHS spends so much effort removing their own content instead of expanding it.
  • RIP food buffs.

Eh, they were overrated anyway. You can pick up a Jadeheart for a fraction of the cost of other mounts that don't regenerate anything at all.

Yeah I don't know, I kinda liked having to take a little break to charm up and get stam up with either a fire or pot. I never found the system inconvenient or "difficult" to understand. Tera was my second MMO I ever played. FFXIV has a more inconvenient system where you have to use a mender to repair gear, but it does make sense that your character would get tired (or in FFXIV, your gear will get worn) after some time. RIP people who loved spamming campfires in Velika.

I agree it'll be good to free up some space, and we'll get some gold in the process. It just feels kinda unnecessary, they're trying to simplify the game way too much lately.

A bit disappointed in the UI improvement, but oh well, having high expectations for BHS is never a wise thing.
