DirectX 12 And Tera?..

My new video card (NVIDIA GeForce GTX1080) arrives on friday and I would like to know if the new DirectX12 will work on Tera.

I fixed my Tera to work on Directx11 but I don't know if that would work with this new version. Im running Tera with a GeForce GTX980 ATM and I've read arround the internet that some of the people with windows 10 (Wich Im using) had problems with this new DirectX12.

Anyone know anything about this?.

Thanks in advance.

Your game probably isn't even using the Directx11 which you think it works with now.

Tera normally works on DX9.... and even that does it with hit or miss results. Your card comes with DX9 support. Not sure if you will have to download it separate from it, but it supports it normally.

As for editing the ini to activate DX10 or 11, I've got conflicting information. Some say that the game will still use DX9 even if you specify it to run on 10 or 11.

Since you did the edit, did you notice any change between using 9 and 11?

DirectX versions aren't something as simple as an .ini flag switch. It's the fundamental API that the game code uses to communicate with your drivers and hardware to render the game on your computer. In other words, the developers create the game using features specific to a particular version of DirectX.

Basically, as beneficial as DirectX 12 may be for TERA (draw call bottleneck much), it's not a part of the game in any way whatsoever.
And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, so to put it lightly, whether or not DX12 will be ever added to this game is anyone's guess.

EDIT: I just realized I completely missed the point of the question.
To add to my answer (and Nopi's), TERA only uses DirectX 9, and all current graphics cards feature support for it still.

    Damn.. This is sad.

I did noticed some color changes. And the blur effect is different.. IDK if it's my mind doing it.. or it worked somehow.
But on the other hand..With this new card I feel like doing CS much more. =D

From what I understand, if a game needs a version of DX, it will ask for that version of DX so your machine will display the most recent version but will most probably have any other versions your games might need. Back when most games came in discs, the version of DX needed came bundled in the disc. Heck, some games even need their own specific version of DX.

A funny case was Phantasy Star Universe PC. It needs DX 9c to run. Sure, I already had Dx 9c from another game that needed it. BUT no. Not this game, it didn't run with ANY instance of DX 9c other than the one that came in it's own CD. Talk about demand to cater.
